Have you considered the consequences of the fact that you are saved by faith alone? Romans 3:21 – 22

Here’s the problem. The only thing that will satisfy God: the only thing that can make you acceptable to Him is righteousness — perfect righteousness. But there's good news. Romans 3:21 – 26.

Our excuses don't stand. God has good reason to be angry with everyone. Romans 2:1 – 3:20.

What’s happening to the world? It seems to be going from bad to worse: moral standards are dropping through the floor. Do you ever wonder what is going on? Paul knows the answer. Romans 1:24 – 32.

In Romans 1:18 – 23 Paul tells us that God is angry with everyone and he tells us why. It's not good news, but you need to hear the bad news so that you can appreciate just how good the good news is.

Paul was never ashamed of the good news about Jesus — the message God had called Him to proclaim. In this passage, he tells us why. Romans 1:8 – 17.

Romans 1:1 - 7. Paul introduces himself to the believers in Rome.

Peter’s almost done. He’s ready to wind it up but before he puts his pen down there are four things he wants to emphasise. 2 Peter 3:14 – 18.

“Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be.” Peter helps us to answer that question. 2 Peter 3:10 - 13.

Do you ever wonder, why is Jesus taking so long about coming back? Why does He let the world carry on the way it is? Peter has the answer. 2 Peter 3:1 – 9

Peter goes to great lengths to be sure we know how to spot a false teacher. 2 Peter 2:10 - 22.

Peter warns that there will always be false teachers among us. We don't need to be anxious: God can deal with them. But on the other hand, we must not be complacent and sit back and do nothing. 2 Peter 2:1 – 10.

The world is a confusing place. Sometimes it feels like you are stumbling about in the dark, but there's no need for that. Peter says you have everything you need to be a strong godly Christian and, he says, you have all the light you need to guide you through the world. We're continuing with our look at 2 Peter. This week: 2 Peter 1:12 – 21.

You already have everything you need to live a godly life. You have the faith, you have everything else that is necessary, you have the power of God behind it all and you have all of God's magnificent promises.

In this episode, we begin a new season looking at 2 Peter. Knowing that he's nearing the end of his time on earth, Peter's writing to warn the believers under his care to stay strong. In his introduction, he drops in an interesting thought: we all have the same kind of faith he had.

We've come to the bit where every good love story finishes: “They got married and they all lived happily ever after.” But our storyteller has more to say, for this story is part of a much bigger story.

Bethlehem, in the days of Ruth, shows us what a community of God's people should be like. It also helps us to understand what God is like.

Naomi's risky plan has left us with a beautiful picture of marriage as God intends it to be, but better still, it opens up to us a deeper understanding of God's lovingkindness.

The story of Ruth is really a story about God, the knowledge of whose hesed gives His people the nerve to grab opportunities and take risks in order to show His hesed to the people around them.

The Hebrew word Hesed is one of the most important words in the Bible. It describes how God relates to us and it describes how we ought to relate to one another.

How often, when the days are dark, we are like Naomi. All we can see is the badness. We don't see the glimmers of hope on our horizon and we don’t remember the promises.

Was there a time when some bitter blows from the hand of God and you headed off to try and find happiness with other gods, left God’s place and withdrew from God’s people? It’s time to come home. It might be costly and there are no guarantees that life will be easy but it’s time to return. Back home is where the blessing is.
