Blessed are Those Who Hunger and Thirst 07.07.2024 1:11:54
To hunger and thirst for righteousness is to be obedient to God in submitting your will to Him and then allowing Him to mold and shape you into who He wants you to be. God alone can remove our character defects, but it's a process. And we don't have to have successfully completed the transaction of righteousness to be blessed. Instead, it's a "long, slow obedience in the same direction.

Blessed are the Pure in Heart 23.06.2024 1:12:43
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus reveals to us what we truly need to be in relationship with him--to walk with him, to be who he created us to be. The blessing of a pure heart is that we SEE God. We understand grace. And we SEE because we get what God is calling us toward and willingly let go of what blinds us. "Seeing God" is evidence of the change grace makes in our lives--what a pure heart lea...
Blessed are the Meek 16.06.2024 57:11
Happy (or blessed) are those who have surrendered themselves to Christ’s care and control, for they are living the good life. And as difficult as this concept of committing and surrendering our life and will to Christ is, it’s been the call of Christ since the very beginning. Have you accepted that you are accepted? Are you ready to relinquish control?
Blessed Are Those Who Mourn 09.06.2024 1:08:45
Mourning was a constant theme for those in exile, yet God promises to comfort those who mourn--replacing their mourning with joy. But what is the source of mourning that leads to being blessed in this way?
Blessed Are the Poor in Spirit 02.06.2024 1:04:51
Our world is filled with competing voices and value systems that seek to guide our lives, and these messages often prioritize our control, comfort, safety, and convenience. But Jesus gives us a different reason for living--a new direction through life's detours and delays. Because of Him, we have the ability to know who we are (and whose we are) and that our lives have purpose and meaning.
Called 26.05.2024 1:09:00
The calling of the prophet Isaiah is quite dramatic, to say the least. But in the midst of this strange story, there is actually a pattern of an encounter with God that leads to a calling. And that pattern can be quite helpful for all of us as we determine what it is that God is calling us to.
From Waiting to Relying 19.05.2024 58:26
Some of Jesus' last words to the disciples were, "Go and make disciples of all nations, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit...but, first, wait." He wanted them to wait to receive the gift and power of the Holy Spirit who, in turn, gave them the ability and boldness to make those disciples in ways they never could have imagined. Just as the fire of the Holy Spirit fell on the disciples...
Prayer 12.05.2024 1:12:39
It took Elijah three years to be shaped and prepared in the "forge." It required obedience, and listening--the most important component to prayer.
Four in the Fire 05.05.2024 1:00:44
Trial by fire is necessary for many, but we often miss out on glorifying God because we can't take the heat! We bow down. Conform. And what we fail to see is that God uses those fiery experiences of life to purge and purify us. The fire doesn't destroy--it burns out the impurities. It refines us. And when you're in the fire for His sake, you'll discover that you're never alone in the flame.
From Striving to Thriving 28.04.2024 1:10:55
Spiritual formation is about God moving us, improving us, making us stronger, giving us purpose, and showing us what love looks like. When we become comfortable, we put ourselves at risk without realizing it. But Jesus models for us what it looks like to be sharpened, and it's not for position, authority, or title. We are sharpened to serve! Let's stop striving under our own efforts and begin thri...
From Attending to Attaching 21.04.2024 1:09:36
We were created for community, and faith leads us into a relational process of formation where God uses our failures, struggles, and experiences to shape us until we find our place and purpose within our faith community. It's also in our gatherings that we are shaped. Our shared worship, in our accountability to one another, and within the safe spaces where we can be honest, vulnerable, and transp...
From Informing to Equipping 14.04.2024 1:01:39
Belief leads to transformation. What informs us about God, Jesus, grace, hope, and love is more than knowledge. These pieces of faith equip us for purpose and ministry, resulting in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
From Reaching to Making 07.04.2024 57:16
Relationship with God requires growth, nurturing, and development. This growth shows itself as we move from reaching others to making disciples, and our character is forged over time--often through fiery trials. But allowing God to purify us is the first step toward transformation, and only when the Refiner sees a clear reflection of himself is the process complete.

Feast of the Tabernacle 17.03.2024 1:01:37
What we "believe" is what we build our lives around--our time, our money, our priorities, our hopes. Belief is critical, for belief born out of conviction is what compels us to be different, allowing a spring of water to well up inside us and spill out. So our question today is simple... do you believe?
Stirred Waters 10.03.2024 1:05:54
Many of us keep covering the things in our lives that cripple us, and until we're ready to "take up our mat"--acknowledge and address the real reasons for our brokenness--the answers we need will remain just out of reach. But Jesus knows what we need. What we are lacking. What needs fixed. We are not "in valid"--he sees us! And because the Living Water Christ offers requires something different fr...
The Well 03.03.2024 1:06:48
How many oppportunities for ministry do we miss beacuse we don't recognize the strategic positioning of the Holy Spirit in our lives? How many hurting people do we walk past, not recognizing their need for grace? How many people do we fail to offer a drink of the living water we profess to have? Real, life-changing water MUST be poured back out! We are prepared to redefine who we are as a church a...
Pure Life 25.02.2024 52:24
Lent is about purifying ourselves, choosing to obediently follow God's leading, much like the jars in John 2 that were empty, waiting to be used. Once the jars were filled, Jesus transformed what was inside. He didn't just meet an immediate need, he responded in abundance! And this transformation, abundance, and the very best of the best is why Jesus came. He's offered us living water--sacred and...
Dream Big Dreams 18.02.2024 1:02:03
Understanding our vision and mission is essential for us to be who God created us to be--individually, of course, but also as a church. We've already been tasked with the Great Comission--to go and make disciples, but what is a disciple? What does it mean to "make" disciples? And what might that look like in this church? As God continues to reveal what He wants us--Marysville Church of the Nazaren...

We are Mephibosheth--despised, struggling with the gods of this word, and tempted to step out of covenant with God. But David does for Mephibosheth was Jesus does for us, making room for us to join him in covenant at a table where we are embraced, given a new home, and a never-ending feast! Healing and the King's palace is waiting for you... who are you in covenant with today?
