The VonDubCast

Come here the boys takes on the last 4 games since the last episode, what we see as positive notes and what parts worry us.  We do specific player breakdowns on some of our favourites including the bison king, the big boys, Klim shady and plenty of others.  We chat about how nice it is to have my boy Yamo back in the lineup and what it does to our lines.  Who we see solidifying spots in the bottom...

I like to use a lot of big fancy words to describe the guests on this show but todays guest can only be summed up with one word, deadly.  Not only is Danny a pure assassin of a stand up comic but he is also such a great guy and he had me laughing form the time he walked in the door to the second he left it.  Not to mention the god damn clinic he dropped on stand up comedy along the way.  If you wa...

Jayde is back and as always we get deep! First off I had to hear all about Jayde's new house, new job and new outlook on life and i'm sure you will all enjoy hearing about it as much as I did.  As always we had to talk about the opposite sex and our dating lives however abysmal they may be.  It also sparked some really interesting conversations around traumas and how they can manifest th...

It’s a Christmas miracle! 2 Oilers Uncensored episodes within less then a week. The boys had to hop on and talk about the couple amazing character wins in New York and at home against Florida. There were tons of storylines between these two games and we cover them all. It’s also nice to once again be the voices of reason and positivity when things start to get grim and be rewarded with the Oilers...

Wow do we have a banger of an episode for you today! Boyd Kelham had a very similar upbringing to me in the town of Slave Lake growing up with a very successful+hardworking father and all of the traumas that come with it.  We talk a lot about addiction what that term truly means and how someone can work towards sobriety and all the amazing things that come with it.  We also talked a lot about musi...

Well wouldn't ya know it the boys have done 20 episodes! This was a grinder chase played through illness and Nick's brain was running on half capacity so this one gets a little silllly! but really when doesn't it get silly on this podcast? Even still we recapped and overviewed the entire Oilers landscape including leadership, defensive woes, coaching, officiating,  American Thanksgi...

Today we welcome back one of my favourite guests and people Jessie Fiddler!  Jessie and I grew up together in Slave lake and went to the same schools and parties as the other but lived vastly different experiences.  It's fascinating that so many years later we can sit down like this and see just how those similarities and differences have manifested.  Jessie has an amazingly deep mind and the...

RED ALERT! AMAZING PODCAST! RED ALERT! I know I hear from so many people that they don't have time to listen to all the episodes and so they pick and choose the one's that they know the guest or something jumps out at them.  Thats all fine and dandy and I don't expect people to listen to every episode, in fact I'm tickled pink anytime anyone listens to any episode. But this con...

Chase and Nick are back in the land of ice and snow and o baby did they had a lot of Oilers talk built up over the first 16 games of the season.  We chat the absolutely horrid display of officiating we have seen this season, the untimely injuries, line changes, specific player reviews, game-by game analysis, live experience at Rogers this season and much much more! We promise we will not let the n...

Just what the Dr. ordered a little bit of your favourite local podcaster pouring his heart out alone in a room! Today we are taking it back with an oldschool VonSolo episode where I take you guys through my trip down to Phoenix, the amazing people i met there, the awesome training at TW BJJ, witnessing Tom Segura's special taping, seeing Jordan Peterson live as well as getting back on the sta...

Welcome to the podcast one of the brightest young stars in the Alberta comedy scene Bobby Warrener! Not only have I been blown away by Bobby’s comedic skill and timing but as I have got to know him better you see exactly how much work he puts into his craft including constant writing and getting on stage as much as he can. It makes perfect sense that he can be killing with such regularity and with...

Every once and a while a conversation impacts me to the point that it sticks with me for days and sometimes even weeks. This was definitely one of them! Alia and I met doing comedy as we are both new on the scene and excited to get better and we hit it off right away! For weeks leading up to this podcast we chatted a ton and made each other laugh on the daily so I could not have been more excited...

We have had plenty of experienced professional comedians on the podcast so far and i though it would be fun to have a fellow newbie on to talk about the experience of starting comedy.  Harshaun and me started within a few weeks of each other and although we may be ten years apart in age we are brought together by our love of standup.  We also chat a bunch about movies and comics and all kinds of t...

Todays episode is with my good buddy and fellow comedy warrior Steven Darnell! I met Steve around the local Edmonton comedy scene and loved his energy from the first time I met him but we really hit it off on our road trip to Grande Prairie to do comedy at the casino.  We talked for hours about comedy, films, acting, the oilers and tons of other subjects.  I knew I would have to get Steve on the p...

The Nick von Wackerbarth show is back and at this point it could quite possibly use a re-brand as it’s become more of the Nick and Jayde show! We chat about my trips to see zeds dead in Seattle as well as my experience in Orlando experiencing the magic of Disney! We also chat about being jobless and how it is viewed by others as well as ourselves. As always we discuss our love lives and me absolut...

Today we have my beautiful sister Courtney on to talk about our recent trip to Orlando and more specifically how we crushed three theme parks in 3 days in about the most efficient way humanly possible.  If you are planning on doing a theme park vacation or just love Disney you need to hear this episode.  It is packed full of travel tips, frugality tips, park breakdowns and lots of laughs from our...

We welcome back Nick McQuick for his second appearance on the podcast! This conversation was wildly different than our first one even though they happened only a few months apart.  We have gotten to know each other much better since then and I am much more familiar with the very basics of comedy which allowed us to talk more about the Edmonton comedy scene as well as Nick's role within it.  T...

I hear a lot of things about the podcast in my travels, mostly its people telling me about their favourite episode or often its people apologizing for not listening (lol) but lately what I've been hearing most is how much people love these solo episodes with Jayde! So who am I to deny the people what they want?! Jayde is back and boy does she have some big life changes on the go. Come hear al...

The big one's here! We break down every division, how we see it shaking out, where the question marks are and what offseason changes we see affecting the standings from last year.  We also do our predictions for every major award handed out this season (with minimal Oilers bias lol) as well as which teams will crack the playoffs this season. Lastly we break down the individual players on the...

It's about that time where all true hockey fans are itching out of their skin and all non-hockey fan partners cringe! We are just over a week away from the kick-off of the regular season and there aren't many words to describe the excitement we are feeling.  This is hands down the greatest Oilers podcast on the market and Oilers stocks haven't been this high since the golden age, wh...

Finally! Someone that I could talk comedy and fighting with! Jim Kerr is a comedian, rapper, boxing aficionado and a certified fella and we had a doozy of a time recording over beers at dukes diner on the UofA campus! We chatted all things stand up including how he got his start in both rapping and comedy, how to run a show and a whole lot of information for beginner comics like me! And on top of...

The boys are back after a 6-week hiatus and boy did we come out firing! This may be the funniest, wildest, most offensive episode yet and we couldn't be more proud of it! We talk the Evander Kane resolution, Oilers Nation and how they are the 2nd best oilers podcast, rookie class, who is going to take big steps, who's battling for bubble positions, LIV golf, line combinations and so many...

We finally have my favourite sibling back on the podcast! Courtney has returned and we are talking all things books. That means Harry Potter, Eragon, Hunger Games and especially TWILIGHT! Court has been trying to get me to read midnight sun which is the first Twilight book but fromEdwards perspective for years now and I finally did this weekend and we had to jump on and talk about it! As always we...

Good morning everyone and a happy Friday to ya! Not only is this podcast with Will Hannigan one of the most solid episodes of the VDC to date but it also ended with some huge news! Will and a few other hilarious comics are performing in Slave Lake on Thursday, Sept 22 at 6:30 at Dog Island Brewery and they are going to let me do a special guest set! This will be my first time doing comedy where pe...

today we do a throwback solo episode with just me and the microphone! I did stream it live on twitch so I had a small audience from time to time, but mainly it was just me trying to remember all that has happened in the last 3 weeks.  I talk about stand up comedy and getting back on the horse and finding my confidence again after bombing horribly and transition that into a successful  trip to Gran...
