The Voice of Texas Veterans

The Texas Veterans Commission does a lot—but it does more with help from our Fund for Veterans' Assistance grantees. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Texas, offer clinical counseling to veteran families in the Fort Hood area, while American GI Forum offers supportive services to veterans across Texas.

In recognition of PTSD Awareness Month, Don Hipp, Provider Training Manager with the Veterans Mental Health Department , breaks down what PTSD is, how to recognize it, and what treatment can look like. Texas Veterans Commission has a Justice Involved Veteran (JIV) Program which works to improve veteran services across the criminal justice system. We have two Claims Benefits Advisers who help veterans understand how incarceration affects their disability compensation and how families can get relief. Filing claims is just one part of TVC assistance.
