Reading 2 Samuel chapter 15 for Wednesday, April 2nd. David fled the palace once Absalom took Hebron and the hearts of the people.

Reading 2 Samuel chapter 14 for Tuesday, April 1st. David’s son can come back to town, but he does not want to see his face. Eventually he sees his face, and kisses it too.

Reading Mark chapter 16 for Monday, March 31st. Jesus is not in the tomb anymore. Also, Jesus appears to people and says some stuff, according to some manuscripts.

Reading Mark chapter 15 for Friday, March 28th. Jesus is accused, sentenced, abused, mocked, crucified and buried.

Reading Mark Chapter 14 for Thursday, March 27th. Jesus prepares his disciples for his departure, but they fall asleep, scatter and deny him. Jesus is questioned and declared a blasphemer, and considered worthy of the death penalty.

Reading Mark 13 for Wednesday, March 26th. Jesus talks about his return and that nobody knows the day or the hour at the end of the world, so we should all be ready.

Reading Mark 12 for Tuesday, March 25th. Jesus commends a poor widow’s generosity and condemns the Pharisee’s piety.

Reading Mark 11 for Monday, March 24th. Jesus curses a fig tree and clears out the temple after riding a borrowed colt into town.

Reading 2 Samuel 13 for Friday, March 21st. Listener discretion is advised. Amnon rapes Tamar, then Absalom kills Amnon.

Reading 2 Samuel 12 for Thursday, March 20th. Nathan calls out David’s sin with Bathsheba and subsequent murder of her husband Uriah. David confesses, God forgives him, but his child gets sick and dies. Then Bathsheba becomes pregnant again.

Reading 2 Samuel 11 for Wednesday, March 19th. David commits adultery and murder. God is not pleased.

Reading 2 Samuel 10 for Tuesday, March 18th. David attempts to honor a dead fellow king, but his delegation is humiliated, so a war breaks out. Israel defeats everyone else, and they become subservient to Israel.

Reading 2 Samuel 9 for Monday, March 17th. David honors the last survivor of Saul’s household.

Reading 2 Samuel 8 for Friday, March 14th. David conquers lots of places and receives tributes. His people also kill 2 out of every three Moabites.

Reading 2 Samuel 5 for Tuesday, March 11th. David becomes king over all Israel, and conquers Jerusalem and renames it “The City of David” He inquires of The Lord before going into battle, and God gives him success and power.

Reading 2 Samuel 4 for Monday, March 10th. Ish-Bosheth is murdered, and the men who did it thought David would be pleased, but David is not pleased by their unjust wicked acts, so they are put to death.

Reading 2 Samuel 3 for Friday, March 7th. David has some kids, consolidates his kingdom, gets his wife back, and laments Abner’s death, cursing Joab and his family for unjustly killing an ally.

Reading 2 Samuel 2 for Thursday, March 6th. David is anointed king of Judah, while a son of Saul is king of the other areas for 2 years. A battle is staged between David’s men and Ish-Bosheth’s and lots of men die a gruesome death. Many less die on David’s side.

Reading 2 Samuel 1 for Wednesday, March 5th. David hears of Saul’s death and the death of his good friend, Jonathan. An Amalekite is killed for raising a hand against Saul and a song is written and sung to lament the loss of Saul.

Reading 1 Samuel 31 for Tuesday, March 4th. After his sons die, Saul begins to die in battle from a critical arrow injury, but expedited his death by falling on his sword after no volunteers were found to finish him off quickly. The Philistines occupy the towns of those who fled leaderless.

Reading 1 Samuel 30 for Monday, March 3rd. David and his men are subject to an attack by a raiding party while they were away, so they go and recover their wives and children and belongings with God’s assurance of victory, while 1/3 of them stay back with the supplies.
