Gonzaga is the undisputed king of the WCC but who is capable of knocking off the top dog? I'll take a look at the schedules as we are one week away from WCC play and see who is primed to make a run, who has the toughest stretch of games, and who can take down Gonzaga.

BYU is 8-2. Saint Mary's is 9-2. The resumes are eerily similar, despite the perceptions of the two teams. I'll take a closer look. Also, USF will play its first true road game this week. Will they make it out still undefeated? Then, Gonzaga takes on Texas Tech. Could this game mean the difference between a 1 and a 3 seed?

Gonzaga may not be as invisible as many believed. BYU's injuries piling up. Saint Mary's needs to find some offense to pair with the stellar defense, but where from? Could USF finish the non-conference perfect? LMU starting to figure it out?

After a week of tournaments and turkey, the WCC has a clearer picture and four NCAA Tournament bids seems like a real possibility. But what does that look like? Gonzaga and BYU already look like locks. So how do Saint Mary's and USF make it happen? Also, Santa Clara with their first losses. How do they bounce back? LMU is doing its best Jekyll and Hyde impression. And Portland is 7-2?!

It is tournament season and it's a big week for one team in particular: Saint Mary's. They have not had a "good" win and Santa Clara and USF seem to be passing them by. Can the Gaels make an impression in the Maui? Also, Gonzaga vs. UCLA and Duke. Santa Clara and Pepperdine both in the SoCal Challenge. 

After the first week of WCC action, who has lived up to expectations? Who has fallen way short? Who has surprised?

The season tips off this week and so do the game previews. Texas at Gonzaga and San Diego State at BYU standout as the games of the week. But also watch for USF against Davidson and Santa Clara hosting Stanford.
