The Skyhoppers Podcast

This one is VERY special since we're joined by our friends Luke and Austin! And we dig pretty deep into most aspects of Star Wars comics, with a particular focus on collecting. If you don't know where to begin with Star Wars comics, this is probably a good place to start!

Sadly, Dakota is not with us this week so we don't get to do the cool episode we teased last week quite yet. However, he has given us his blessing to finally talk about JEDI: FALLEN ORDER. And talk about it we do. I knew we could talk about this game, but I had no idea we'd do quite this much gushing. I guess I shouldn't be surprised!

It what may be our most underwhelming TCW episode yet, we're talking about episodes 5-7 of Season 3 this week. Clone Wars is very good, and these episodes land as a resounding "meh" from all of us. However, there's a bit of a deep dive on Satine that makes the whole thing worth it in the end.

Big news! We're going to be playing an RPG on the podcast once a month! Hopefully that's exciting! This week we spend a little time talking about the various different RPG systems that Star Wars has inhabited over the last 30 or so years. and then talk about what we're going to be doing with ours!

Clone Wars is back with Season 3 this week, and honestly it hits us with some of the worst chronology nonsense that we've faced yet. And Cole isn't even here to guide us through it! Episodes 1-4 of Season 3 this week!

The Skyhoppers Podcast has done an episode about Solo: A Star Wars Story in the past, but we're taking another crack at it now that we've got some new hosts who have their own opinions! Our first cold open with our new hosts! Talk of Solo and soundtracks gives way to a bit of Cassian casting news, and then onto our main Clone Wars event! The last three episodes of season 2 this week. They aren't the strongest the series has ever been, if you ask us.

How many quiz episodes can this podcast do? Never enough. That's how many. But (supposedly) they're fun because you listeners can play along with us! This week, Dakota and Eva answer some questions from "The Ultimate Unauthorized Star Wars Trilogy Triva Challenge". It's pretty wild.

The two saddest episodes of The Clone Wars? Quite possibly. The Zillo Beast deserved so much better than she got, and everyone should take a moment to remember the horrible injustice that was done unto this majestic creature. "The Zillo Beast" and "The Zillo Beast Strikes Back" this week.

Back when Rich was on the show, we definitely talked about clones at some point or another. But there are three new people on this podcast, and Ben has been thinking about clones WAY more than usual due to reading Hard Contact for Obroa-skai Walkers, so we're doing it again! Are they just fleshy droids? Why do the Jedi just accept them with no scrutiny? We don't know! But we talk about it anyway.

In a double continuation of both Prequel Month and our TCW rewatch, we're tackling "Senate Murders", "Cat and Mouse", and "Bounty Hunters"! Guess what? July is still Prequel Month here at the Skyhoppers Podcast! And we're doing something that we've never really done before: a deep dive on a specific movie, with the movie in question being The Phantom Menace. Every saga has a beginning, and we're here to talk it to death.

Star Wars has always been inherently political, and anyone that disagrees is very much missing the point. Anyone who thinks the Empire is right is very much missing the point. Star Wars is anti-war and anti-facist, and we wanted to talk a bit about that this week. And of course, there's a new FACPOV book to discuss as well as some weird Mandalorian rumors. Have you ever watched a Clone War? We watched FOUR Clone Wars for this week. It's the second battle of Geonosis and all the freaky-deaky brain worms that that entails!
