Rep. Melissa Hortman (Speaker, MN House of Representatives) joins The Sheletta Show to break down what’s been going down in the Minnesota State House and the new power sharing agreement that was reached this week. Rep. Hortman goes through some of the details of that deal and legislation she’s looking to focus on this session.

No sniffles can stop a full third hour of The Sheletta Show. Sheletta is first joined by Senator Clare Oumou Verbeten and Representative Jim Nash about their respective branches of Minnesota government and Black Entrepreneurs Day. Then Sheletta gets into contracting middle school germs with Steve Thomson and Lindsey.

Representative Jim Nash makes his debut on The Sheletta Show. He highlights all the responsibilities he has as a representative of Carver County in the Minnesota State House. Representative Nash has experience in small business and is a strong voice for government getting out of the way of small businesses. He will be speaking at Black Entrepreneurs Day.

Senator Clare Oumou Verbeten joins Sheletta to talk about her friendship and work with the late, great Senator Kari Dziedzic. The Senator talks about what she’s working on/towards in the Minnesota State Senate this session and her upcoming role/contribution for Black Entrepreneurs Day.

Michael Roberts joins Sheletta to talk about home ownership. There are a lot of numbers and rates to that adult responsibility and Michaell provides some clarity to the process that is daunting for so many. Sheletta did something she had never done this week in the face of so many rollbacks on DEI programs and initiatives. Sheletta explores his disappointment with Target and what she's doing about it. PLUS conversations with Adrienne Diercks and Michael Roberts!

Sheletta had dollars from Amazon committed to her Black Entrepreneurs Day but she had to give it back. A need was created and Adrienne Diercks and Project Success stepped up to support. They’re bringing dollars, volunteers and supplies to the State Capitol this Monday February 3rd!

Black Entrepreneurs Day starts at the Minnesota State Capitol at 10am on Monday February 3rd! Sheletta brings Black business owners to rally together and tell their stories before meeting with our elected leaders for lunch. So many of Sheletta's guests today will be there on Monday too!
