The Relic Podcast

We all have our moments when the darkness can consume us.  Often times it feels like no one can see us.  Don't stay there.  The light is right next to us.  We just have to face the other direction.

We all have those uphill struggles, battles.  Some more than others.  Some are real.  Some are ones we make up in our heads.  Either way, they can either be something to avoid, or something to conquer and make us stronger, if we choose.  We tend to put these make believe "Dead End" signs in our heads that give us comfort because it's already telling us it's a dead end.  Why bother?  Let's not get...

 We will all get the call that will change our lives.  The call that will knock us down.  The call that will stay in our memories forever.  What happens next?  You choose.

Feel the pressure?  Feel like you're sinking?  Breathe.  

No matter who we are, life will give us plenty of opportunities where we have to decide to get better or be bitter.  Losing, failure, defeat.  They can be great learning tools, if you choose to use them that way.

We don't always get what we want.  Things don't always turn out how we expected.  Some even start life with a disadvantage.  The list goes on of things we could complain about.  Or we could choose to smile and get on with life and be grateful for what we can do and do have.  Shot out to LJ for the inspiration.

Lao Tzu said, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."  That quote still has power after all of these years.  No matter the journey we are on, or how long the road seems to be, we all have to take that step.   One at a time.  

Friend, brother, father figure.  Triple threat.  We go back to '83-'84. The role Gary has played in my life can't be summed up in a 20 minute podcast but in this episode I shed some light on the impact he has made (and continues to make) in my life.  Thank you, Gary.  

We all have at least one we have to push...how will you choose to push it?

Life can be a tough teacher.  She gives you the test before the lesson.  Hopefully you learn it the first time.  Either way, it can leave a mark.

Down Syndrome?  Wet Zubaz?  Brian had plenty of reasons to complain, but he never did.  In fact, he just smiled. 

Couldn't let Shane's Story ride out without bringing up his mother, Mel.  Selflessness personified.  A true gem.  Thank you.   Never forget #3.  FFOF Forever.

I learned what true selflessness looked like from Shane.  Forever grateful for the example he set for all of us.  He was ALWAYS there.  He showed up.  Thank you Shane.  

Be humble or be humbled.  You choose.
