Hey Jude. But really its hey you! Jude is quickly urging you and me to contend for the once and for all faith that the Apostles delivered to the saints of God. He is urging them to guard against false teachers and false teachings. Jude begins to bring his treatise to a finale by saying that Enoch prophesied about the days of the coming of the LORD and how that God would judge those that threatened the faith. With that expectation, his exhortation to CONTEND for the faith has more energy both on his part and those that hear and obey it. You could say Enoch was blowing his trumpet of warning, instruction and announcement!

Wow. That is a strong statement. But in order to contend for the FAITH we must know how the LORD wants us to wield our WORD Swords!

Jude begins to address the time of the end by telling us to CONTEND FOR THE FAITH! So many are giving in, giving up, or giving over. Others are playing Ostrich and pretending not to notice. Some people believe what you don't know won't hurt you. Here we get straigthened out in our thinking so we can get our behavior and works on track with God's plan!

There is too much incompetence to think otherwise!

We finally arrive in our study of baptism in the imperative of the believers of the New Covenant submitting to water baptism.
