While being worshipped and declared messiah, Jesus is weeping. Not from inflated pride, but in sorrow. Knowing that it was the cross that lie ahead, Jesus' words betray the moment saying, "I wish you knew what would bring you peace." Jesus saw the people straining for peace in all the wrong places, but Jesus wept because they didn't realize he was the peace they were seeking.
