The Prepared Mindset Podcast

Sam is back, and we tackle a topic we've all touched on at some point or another; Being a better shooter. We look at a bit of the science behind, a bit of the practical application, and exchange thoughts and ideas back and forth on how skills in both music and martial arts have lent themselves towards our shooting skills.

For our 30th episode, Trevor and I sit down and talk all the essentials. Everything from guns to watches, to quality blades, and of course, our favorite picks of bourbon.

Staying focused on your goals, is 100% essential. Especially, if you may not know where to start, or what your next step is, or where to look for support. I take some time this week to discuss my personal experiences with teaching, with learning, with how to digest information, and how to stay mission focused.

After having spent time the last few weeks diving down the "edc rabbit hole", I take some time to admit I was narrow on my scope of the subject originally. I've learned and found some pretty cool stuff out there, as well as a ultra support community of really cool folks dedicated to helping everyone learn and grow!

As a companion/continuation to our discussion on attention in episode 24, this week I talk about protection through inaction. We examine the concept of the gray man, and blending in, disappearing in plan sight. This is an idea that's gained a lot of traction and become much more mainstream in the 2A community within the last several years, and for good reason.

The holidays are a stressful time for us all, especially now during the pandemic. Let's take some time and talk about personal happiness, and personal health, to focus on getting to our goals, and enjoying our holiday season. We hit on friends, family, toxic relationships, and how your mental health and care can lead you to a healthier mindset.

I dish about the media, talk about the rising crime in major cities, and rant a bit about personal accountability.

As the holidays approach, I take time to talk about situational awareness, and where your personal attention falls. In the wake of election day, I discuss what we've seen in just the few hours past the polls closing. We talk what has happened in the swing states, what is yet to come, and a bunch more.

This week I discuss so more prepping, and we talk about the situation we as Americans are facing, in regards to the possible fallout from the Election. Rioting and Looting have almost become "normalized" and the public is quickly losing it's outrage over this behavior. Will we see something similar after the results of the presidential election are announced?

My wife Lexy joins me this week, to discuss with me the growing number of new female firearms owners. More specifically, we talk about her experiences, what led her to buying his first gun, the concerns and considerations that women face in everyday carry that most men don't know or have to think about.

With gun purchases at all time highs, and so many Americans out buying their first firearms, we're taking a look at my purchases, the what's, and the why's. I walk through my various purchases, talk about my reasons and rationale behind each purchase at the time, and hopefully help some of you with your first purchases!

A topic and word thrown around a lot today, is Fascism. Sam and I sit down and talk about the origin of the term, what it really means, how it truly applies to "today" and how people around us apply it to the world they're living in today.

This week, I talk about the start of hunting season, my first delve into the "other side" of the firearms world, and how much i learned in my short time spent in Northern Michigan this past weekend with my friends Jake and Ryan, getting prepared for the opening of Hunting season here in the Mitten.

With hunting season officially starting here in Michigan next weekend, i brought my friend Jake on to talk, well.... Hunting! We talk bows, rifles, deer, elk, and a ton more!!

This week, we take a look at what should go into your thinking, planning, and prep, for heading out on the open road, now that restrictions and lockdowns are being lifted across the country. We look at a few scenarios, and touch on everything from a modified EDC to how your situational awareness will change.

This week, i have my good friend Spencer on, to discuss being prepared medically, the supplies he carries, what I carry, and what you as a concerned individual should have. We also touch on training, and resources to be ready when you may find yourself in a unfortunate situation.

The first of our SITREP segments we're rolling out. We discuss major current events, specifically around some interpretation of legal/illegal militia, the 2nd amendment, as well as some perception of the pro-2A community by the general public.

On this episode, we discuss the recent reversal of the capacity ban in California, and take a trip through time discussion american gun control legislation while sharing some thoughts and opinions on how those have impacted our world.
