The Path of Socrates

"Abandon all prejudices, all ye who enter here!" A series of informal talks dedicated to helping people think more clearly, make sounder judgments, and above all, to unceasingly question instead of naively accepting what others want us to believe. The range of subjects treated will be broad: sometimes humorous, occasionally dead serious; at times irreverent, though never with the intention of degrading others, but rather, for the purpose of pointing out certain obvious facts which may have remained unperceived due to the all-pervasive power of "social conditioning". dboltoncreations@gmail.com

Ep. 52 “Perceived insults that are something else entirely” 05.09.2021

Has it ever happened to you that you make a simple factual statement, and someone takes it as a personal insult? This happened to me recently on Facebook, so I decided to give the phenomenon some thought – and to make a podcast episode on these musings! Free download: A PDF with many links about the current Covid & “vaccine” situation: https://kvisit.com/QA/5tcB "The Path of Socrates", with Da...

Episode 51: “A Hitler in every town” 01.09.2021

We tend to believe that truly evil people are the great exception; that figures such as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and other mass murderers represent extremes of ethical degeneration, and that “normal people could never sink to such vile depths. Yet is that really true? Could it not be that “monsters” such as the ones named above were exceptional only because they had the opportunity to wreak havoc, and...

Ep. 50: “Where are all the mass anti-vaccine demonstrations in the U.S.A.?” 29.08.2021

All over Europe, there have been massive demonstrations against the lock-downs, and most especially, against the attempts to pressure, or even force, people to accept the injection into their bodies of the experimental drugs that are commonly, but incorrectly labeled “vaccines”. In France on a single weekend, there were demonstrations in 175 cities and towns; Spain, Italy, the U.K., Germany, and e...

Ep. 49: “Afghanistan & Joe Biden – an alternative explanation” 27.08.2021

These days, practically everyone is criticizing poor Joe Biden for the terrible humanitarian fiasco in Afghanistan, where thousands of American citizens are said to have been left behind and stranded in a hostile environment, which could lead to their violent deaths. But are things really as they seem? In this episode, I offer an alternative explanation – one based on reasoning, and approximate pr...

Ep. 48 “The Beauty of probabilistic Thinking” 26.08.2021

In this episode, I explain how one can think more clearly, and increase the likelihood of arriving at sound conclusions, by employing what I call “Probabilistic Thinking” – which, in addition to its other benefits, is a sure-fire way to keep you from ever becoming a fanatic! "The Path of Socrates", with David Earl Bolton My Amazon author page: https://www.amazon.com/David-Bolton/e/B009KWHHPA Perso...

Ep. 47 “The Sickness of improper Perspective” 24.08.2021

Whether or not we like it, the truth is that most of us are not quite mentally balanced when it comes to seeing things in their proper perspective, that is, placing the appropriate amount of importance on things or situations. Instead, we wildly exaggerate the importance of some issues, while hardly noticing others, though the latter may be of much greater import, or even of extreme urgency. This...

Episode. 46: Gun Control 18.08.2021

Regardless of political persuasion, almost everybody would agree that we all have a right to defend ourselves. Yet how is the average person supposed to do this, if he or she is not allowed to own the most effective means of personal defense there is: a gun. For example: is an older woman supposed to try to become a martial arts expert in order to ward off one or more assailants, who are no doubt...

Ep. 45: The Fractional Banking System: what EVERYONE should know – especially now! 14.08.2021

Everyone should know what “fractional banking” is, in order to better assess the risks they are taking by having money in the bank during periods of economic instability. This short podcast is not meant to be “expert” financial advice, though it could help you to make more informed decisions as far as your personal finances are concerned. No matter how much money you have in your back account, thi...

Ep. 44: Can’t people even think THIS far? 12.08.2021

It has amazed and dismayed me to see how great segments of the populace – including many who have received higher education – have suddenly devolved into a mass of unthinking lemmings. I’m referring to the fact that many scientists are being censored, yet many folks seem to think that’s just fine! This episode goes into this issue a bit more deeply, and clearly shows why such “willful ignorance” i...

Ep. 43: The present state of the “Covid crisis” – a talk with MichelAngelo from NYC 09.08.2021

In this episode, my friend from NYC, MichelAngelo, and I talk about the present state of the “Covid-19 crisis”, of the so-called “vaccines”, and many other related issues. For example: Why does it always seem that the “pro-vax” people never want to directly respond to the evidence presented by the growing number of experts that point out the great dangers of those experimental drugs? And why can’t...

Ep. 42: Who the devil is “Michael Baxter”? 07.08.2021

In a site called “Realrawnews.com”, there is a writer who has informed us of events happening “behind the scenes” - events which would truly delight many of us, were they true. Unfortunately, these stories are almost certainly NOT true, and yet they continue to be put forth – and for what purpose? This episode deals with this issue, and warns that “Michael Baxter” is most probably an agent of disi...

Ep. 41 Is lying always wrong? 02.08.2021

Rare is the person who ALWAYS tells the truth; in fact, anyone who does might just end up doing much more harm than good. Yet when might we be justified in lying, and to what extent should we attempt to tell the unvarnished truth, no matter what the consequences? This episode delves into such questions, and more… "The Path of Socrates", with David Earl Bolton My Amazon author page: https://www.ama...

Ep. 40: Medical Astrology: An interview with NYC astrologer MichelAngelo 26.07.2021

While astrology is certainly no replacement for expert medical advice, it can give important clues as to certain illnesses, medical conditions, and the general state of one’s vital energies. In this interview, MichelAngelo talks about this fascinating branch of Astrology, and also of certain “New Age” healing techniques such as Acutonics. No matter what your level of interest and ability in astrol...

Ep. 39 “I love God, and (He/She/It) loves me!” 20.07.2021

The majority of people who believe in God refer to the Creator as “He”; those of the Feminist persuasion prefer to call their Maker “She”. I say why not simply call God “It”. After all, the universe, that includes everything in creation, including us, is routinely referred to as “it”, and we do not think it is derogatory to do so. Perhaps it’s time to free God from the “he-she” sexual polarity, an...

Ep. 38: R.I.P Ashli Babbitt – wherever you are! 13.07.2021

The shooting and killing of Ashli Babbitt on January 6 at the U.S. Capitol was an event that curiously served both sides of the political spectrum. The Left uses it to show how the “fanatical” Trump supporters were hell-bent on breaking through those doors so that they could attack members of congress; in their view, Babbitt “deserved what she got”. The Trump supporters, on the other hand, view th...

Episode 37: Should I get the vaccine? 07.07.2021

One of the big questions of our day: Should I get the “vaccine”, or not? In this episode, I tell you some of the things you are not being told by most politicians, the MSM, and the Medical-Pharmaceutical Industry. In addition, and most essentially, I have prepared a free PDF file for you to download. It contains well over 60 links to videos and articles by extremely reputable physicians and scient...

Ep. 36 Is Donald Trump really as bad as we thought? (with special guest “Michelangelo”) 04.07.2021

At the beginning of the Trump presidency, there were many who loved him, and many who hated him. The majority of people from “both sides” have probably stuck to their views over the years. However, there are a good number of folks whose opinions about Trump have radically changed since 2016. My friend Michelangelo from New York, and I myself are good examples of precisely that. In this discussion,...

Ep. 35 The great Folly of one-sided belief 01.07.2021

For some reason, many people tend to believe totally either one side or the other, in politics, religion, and other areas as well. The problem here is that truth can sometimes be partially found in MANY places – after all, even a liar can sometimes tell the honest truth! In order to determine what is right, and what is wrong, it is always advisable to hear BOTH sides of any controversial issue, an...

Ep. 34 Does Putin want to destroy the U.S.? 22.06.2021

Again and again, we hear about how the “evil” Russians – with Vladimir Putin leading the way – want to take down the U.S., maybe even teaming up with China to do so. After all, haven’t they already done a host of terrible things, like using deadly nerve agents to murder double agents who were living in other countries? What this sort of talk routinely neglects is simple reasoning: what would Putin...

Ep. 33 Shock! Trump may have been telling the truth after all! 17.06.2021

After over a year of vehemently and mockingly denying that Covid-19 could have originated in a laboratory in Wuhan, now people to the left of center on the political spectrum are seeing themselves forced to admit that which they were previously totally unable to even imagine: that Donald Trump was right! This episode deals with the great folly of demonizing someone to the extreme, to such an exten...

Ep. 32: The Effect of Inertia on our Expectations of Things to come 13.06.2021

Do you tend to think that “things will go on more or less as before”, even when there are signs that, if you pondered them, would make you believe otherwise? Do you realize that at certain points in history, tremendous, terrible events happened suddenly, and changed the everyday lives of millions? WWII, 9/11/2001, and the Covid outbreak are merely three examples of such upheavals, and we could soo...

Ep. 31: How comfy it is to belong to a herd! 08.06.2021

Unfortunately, there is a basic drive in many people to attach oneself to a “herd” of other, like-minded, non-individuals who then provide the emotional “security” that so many crave. This tendency is especially pronounced among those on the left, since that segment of the population tends to be easily swayed by collectivist ideologies. Of course, the true individual goes his or her own way, cheri...

Ep. 30: Capitalism is BAD, right? Think again… 06.06.2021

All-too-often, when communism or socialism are criticized, someone will eventually point out that capitalism isn’t perfect either, and that it should be abolished. Such thinking displays an ignorance of what capitalism actually is, amnd of its tremendous potential for generating more wealth for all. Not that it doesn’t have weaknesses: no system is “perfect” in a world in which people themselves a...

Ep. 29: How would you be living if there were no Internet? 04.06.2021

Suppose there were no such things a computers or cell phones (you older folks will remember those times!)… How would your day-to-day life be different from the way it is now? Have you ever thought about what you would do from hour to hour if you weren’t distracted by messages, constant phone calls, the desire to see what people are doing on Facebook, and thousands of other things that capture your...

Ep. 28: The Heroes of the Past - and the Cowards of the Present 02.06.2021

Many are those in the military who gave their lives for our country, so that Liberty and Democracy might survive. We call them rightly heroes, and we commemorate them for their bravery. But what about the many of us “normal people” in the present? What are we doing to ensure the future of freedom? What’s that you say? You don’t wish to speak up on social media platforms, since you’d like to avoid...
