The Overflow

Do you ever wish you could go back to the past and make things better, or to the future and find peace? Well, you don't need a time machine for that, we just need to come alive to the truth of God's presence with us. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.  2 Corinthians 12:9

And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20

His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matthew 25:23

Why are you frightened?” he asked. “Why are your hearts filled with doubt?    Look at my hands. Look at my feet. You can see that it’s really me.  Luke 24:38-39

Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. James 5: 13-15

And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. Acts 10:38 As we approach Pentecost, receive this prayer for you and those you love. He is with us.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalm 46:1-3 #psalm46

What do we do when the giants in our lives snarl at us? We remind them of the one who is fighting in our corner.

The God who has the whole world in His hands also has your whole world in His hands

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.~ Psalm 118:14 Jesus is the expression of the longings of our heart. He is everything we are crying out for!

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33 Come out of hiding, Christ has overcome!

Jesus invites us to an intimate walk with Him every day

Look to the cross and let it lead you towards resurrection.

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.    Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:12-13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Jesus comes to us in humility and gentleness so we can draw near to him without fear or trepidation. In Jesus, the presence of God is always a safe space for us.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 

Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, 'Don’t be afraid; just believe.' We honour Jesus when we believe

Jesus replied, 'You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.' John 13:7 In the moments we struggle to understand, His Spirit helps us to trust.

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. Psalm 56:8

Sometimes you have to empty it all before God. I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. Isaiah 46:4

And the LORD gave them rest on every side, just as he had solemnly promised ~ Joshua 21:44 Everywhere you look, there Christ is

This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back Acts 1:11 We do not journey with any other than the Jesus revealed in the Gospels. This same Jesus!
