In this episode, we discuss one of 2018's best Malayalam films thus far - Sudani from Nigeria. This is ostensibly a 'light' film, but we found that it sneakily packs weighty topics within the fluff. And everyone in the cabal liked it.

Lijo Jose Pellissery's Angamaly Diaries, was a much feted movie from 2017 that every member of the cabal loved. So it is no surprise that episode 21 of the podcast marked the return of the cabal back to full strength to discuss this feature.

In a return to the true mainstream, we talk about the December 2017 Mohan Raja - Sivakarthikeyan - Fahadh starrer Velaikkaaran. We had a rather wide, ranging discussion about the movie as well as the meta movie within it. A film that really suffers from excess but is redeemed really by its inventiveness and the occasional sparkling dialog.

The cabal (well at least 2 of the cabal) is/are taken in by the atmosphere, sound, and aesthetic of Rajeev Ravi's directorial debut. We loved it so much we decided to do this as 2 parts, with a surprise addition coming in part 2.

The Cabal goes a little more mainstream this week exploring the 2012 Malayalam hit Usthad Hotel. Bit of a guilty pleasure, this film brought some varied reactions from the group. But we could all agree on one thing - Dulquer and Thilakan were excellent!
