Coaches were fired, staff not paid, players not paid, suppliers not paid. At the end of the year, with the club in massive debt and the owner in hiding, the club, despite finishing fourth, was relegated to T3 for failing to meet licensing requirements. The club's very existence was in doubt. A deal orchestrated by the Sports Authority of Thailand tried to bring together Brazilian investors with an amateur team and sports academy - Christ...

Adiós Alberto; apenas te conocíamos 28.12.2023 35:25
The first leg of the season comes to an end with a 2-2 draw at Chainat. Chitchanok scores - and early Xmas present for CMFC fans. Albert Garcia resigns (cough) as head coach after just nine league games in charge....and Bubet Suppipat resigns (that cough is getting worse) as General Manager. Simon needs some new swear words as we try and fail to make any sense of what is happening behind the scene...
We keep fighting (literally) 20.12.2023 41:20
Reflections on a 0-0 draw with Chanthaburi - a game marred by some dismal refereeing. And looking forward to a trip to Chainat Hornbill and the end of the first leg games for this season. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Carlos Parreira - part 1 - before Thailand 16.11.2023 31:52
Some lessons are very obvious from Carlos' coaching career. If an opportunity is put on front of you grasp it; do not be afraid of failure; have very strong mentors to support you and love what you do.... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Deep into the heart of Esan 27.10.2023 32:07
Apologies for the late update this week and for misquoting from 'Heart of Darkness.' Put it down to 6 nights away; 4 hotel rooms; 2 games of football; 2 defeats.....and a zillion hours of driving. The new coach's honeymoon needs to end with a win this weekend. Really enjoyed being in Mahasarakham and the welcome from the local football team. They would be a great addition to T2. Simon is a little...
I hope Albert has a good map...... 18.10.2023 29:57
In this episode we discuss the hurried arrival of the new CMFC head coach Albert Garcia - as Shakespeare noted in Hamlet - the funeral baked meats did coldly furnish forth the marriage table! We dissect the club's QandA - less Tiger and more cuddly kitten. We look at our big game on Sunday in NakhonRatchasima and then the REVO cup tie at MahaSaraKham Another quiet week in CMFC football ! Hosted on...
Our interview with Veljko Filipovic 14.10.2023 30:38
On Saturday morning Simon and Rob sit down with our favourite Serbian man-mountain, Veljko Filipovic, who after two seasons with CMFC is now at Chiang Rai United. Our conversation dealt with important matters such as when did Veljko first shave; CMFC's promotion chances; the Serbian SuperLiga and differences between T1 and T2 in Thailand. It would be easy to talk for longer but we needed lunch. cm...
CMFC fires head coach Jun Fukuda 10.10.2023 32:11
Last week we talked about why first impressions matter for job interviews, first dates etc. The need to look, and act, the part. This week the subject is break-ups....which are so much worse when they are unexpected. A thoroughly decent, intelligent man has been treated very shabbily indeed. Here are our thoughts on the dismissal of Fukuda-san and what it means for CMFC. We also review the 2-3 hom...
A shitshow circus....(try saying that quickly) 06.10.2023 29:27
CMFC becomes the only T2 club knocked out of the FA Cup in the preliminary round: this has upset Simon - who gets quite sweary! ST Youth FC - not much evidence of youth or of a football academy. Lots of police haircuts and an average age closer to 30. On a positive note we preview Sunday's home game with Nakhon Si United and the return of Meedech the Merciless. Sorry about the background noise mid...
A 15 goal weekend in Chiang Mai 02.10.2023 28:14

Rayong clean sheet but at a cost 27.09.2023 32:01
Thwarted by the Rayong woodwork. Three away games - three clean sheets. Chitchanok's injury. More hurt. More frustration. Managing the media and managing your message. When the physios and doctors become the most important members of the squad. Plus Simon tells me to fuck off. A yellow card surely. Finally - a link to the Thai FA interview with Charyl Chappuis: https://fb.watch/nj_jYG0srr/ H...
