Things get serious in this week's episode with John Adams' Doctor Atomic. He's not the first American composer the ladies have discussed (that would be Philip Glass), but he's one of the more direct and controversial ones. Heads up: there might not be much to laugh about with this opera.

The ladies are back on their bullshit with this week's review of Bizet's Les Pêcheurs de Perles, aka The Pearl Fishers. It's not as well-known as its sibling Carmen, but it's just as good. Of course, Anna and Krista will talk about Shirtless Mariusz Kwiecien and the one aria that Jonas Kaufmann has never sung.

Anna and Krista tackle Philip Glass' opera Akhnaten this week. They rave about the staging, Anna goes Mama Bear over her Large Adult Opera Son and they throw in a bonus opera!

Anna and Krista take on the French Revolution again this week with Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmelites. How is it connected to Andrea Chenier, and what the hell went on while the opera was being written? They'll also discuss whether it's better in English or French.

Anna and Krista visit the land of bel canto in this episode, with a look at Rossini's Le Comte Ory. It's an opera with a boring origin, but the royal assbucket at the center of the story stirs up some real shit to go with his trash self.

For a switch, the ladies cover a Czech opera this week: Antonin Dvorak's Rusalka. What's a rusalka? Where did this story come from? How do Renee Fleming and the Incredible Hulk tie into this? What died on Piotr Beczala's face? Listen and find out!
