The Nine Points Podcast

This episode is roughly 30 minutes in duration and divided into three segments. In the first segment, I explore how Romans 13 applies to all levels of society. Z-time is a father/son conversation about trolling and misinformation. The final segment is a brief tip of the cap to the Good Samaritans in our communities. 

Our show today has two segments. The first segment contrasts the misery of blaming with the joy of endurance. In Z-time, we discuss the inherent dignity of being able to work together or stand alone. 

Segment one is a personal revelation about the delivering power of patience and faith. Segment two is a father and son discussion about being thankful in a world trying to distract us. The third and final segment dabbles in alliteration and God's blessed assurance.   

We begin a new season of our family podcast by taking a look at the history between David and his son Absalom. 

This show has two segments. The first segment focuses on the importance of courage. In segment two, we discuss a couple of ways to interpret Matthew 7: 21-23.

The first segment speaks to why it is important to consider mental health professionals in some circumstances. The second segment talks about giving vs receiving and how to fight against mental fatigue.

Segment one is a salute to all fathers and a closer look at the challenges of some important biblical dads. In segment two, (Z-Time), the teens talk generally about what it feels like to have siblings    

Segment one explores how family leaders should model different types of strength and authority for the young. Z-Time processes two different times in Luke chapter 20 where Jesus discusses authority.

There are times when the truth taps us on the shoulder, pokes us in the ribs or dumps ice cold water upon our heads. The first segment explores how our families can be negatively impacted by contempt in our hearts. Z-Time explores the philosophical question, "Do people really change in their core?" 

Recorded on May 29, 2021, today's show has two segments. The first segment incorporates The Beatitudes, James 1: 1-2 & Hebrews 12:11 into the work of families. In the second segment, I invite our teenagers to take a stab at a grownup question "Why do we suffer?" 

On the one hand, I respect modern sentiments such as: "The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results." However, there is also an important concept out there called "Faith." It is a necessary ingredient for healthy families. This dynamic is the focus of today's show. 

In segment one, we process Luke 15: 11-32. Families still contend with the same challenges that faced this father and his two sons. We validate the differing perspectives of the father and his elder son, & explore where these perspectives come from. In segment two, we explore what makes joy so important, & how it differs from happiness.

This is a brief episode with one segment. I shared some thoughts about how God chooses at times to reveal certain things within our families, and not just the ones that we are related to by blood. I composed today's show at the tail end of May 1st, 2021, which would have been my maternal grandfather's 89th birthday. We love you, Scraps!

We are living in some challenging social times. Each of the three segments in today's show deal with accountability. When it comes to social justice, the only fingers that I pointed were directed towards scripture. We can all do better, so will we? 

This episode is a brief acknowledgement of my faith & appreciation for what Jesus did for the entire world. This is also my intentional celebration for the holiday that we all recognize because of it. People can always find things to do with the next person's faith. Make sure that your faith brings you closer to God & not them.

Life is a work in progress. In the first segment, my wife & I compare & contrast our nuclear vs church families. During Z-time, I ask the teens to tell me something that they would never do, even if there is no law against it.

Families are precious & powerful. In today's show, my wife & I explore one of those passing thoughts that successful authority figures come to terms with. 

Today's episode is a collaboration between myself (host) and my father. We look at three sibling relationships from Genesis (Cain & Abel, Ishmael & Isaac, Esau & Jacob). As we process what happened during Biblical times, we also discuss the decisions and opportunities that await us as modern parents.  

In segment one, I offer a personal testimony of how a little bit of knowledge and a lot of self-righteousness cost me plenty in my youth. During Z-Time, my sons each describe a specific manifestation of righteousness. Segment three is a final word on the first two segments followed by a description of the new novel. 

This episode is my way of saying thank you to both of my parents, who each had a birthday this month. 

Segment one is an introduction to the man who wrote Galatians, the Apostle Paul. In segment two, we discuss expectations of what church services may feel like now that Covid-19 is part of our new reality. In segment three, we explore how in-home violence is also corrosive to the community.
