Episodes

Episode 35 - Cathartic relief 30.04.2013

This week: It's the penultimate Lamptey of the season and Ed does a fantastic job (even if he says so himself) in eloquently drawing the curtains on the match reports for the campaign. We're also delighted to invite Katy Fancourt from the CCFC ladies team into the house of Nii for a chat about how things are going for them. Contains Aaron Martin ambivalence. We'd listen right to the very end if we...

Episode 34 - "and that's just the left backs!" 24.04.2013

This week: Neil's not around, but the other Niis have a bloody good time reminiscing about things not going that well. Expect some Simpsons character comparisons, a little research from the Knowles Social Analysis team, and the creation of David Pal. Includes a dissection of our defensive frailties, and a hefty pinch of salt.

Episode 33 - "We didn't get anyone good" 15.04.2013

This week: In copycat fashion the Niis have gone with a new-look lineup as Matty Evans is drafted in from the development squad to fill the experienced shoes of Ed and Knowler. Why not join us for some end-of-season japes about a sodden Crawley game, a bit of chit-chat on the progression of Conor Thomas, and a super-tough Going for Gould. Contains too much Trevor Benjamin.

Episode 32 - The Sultan of sterile possession 09.04.2013

This week: The guys regale eachother with tales from what's been a particularly tepid seven days. Expect a Crawley preview which raises more questions than answers, a wild John Fleck/Andrea Pirlo comparison, and a continuing (albeit mild) sense of despair as Richard Wood's reign of menace makes an emphatic return. Contains sound effects.

Episode 31 - Mmm, delicious frankfurter mousse 03.04.2013

This week: Back come the Niis with an all-action, fist-pumping, bass-beating, stereotype-enhancing, breakdown-inducing look over the horrific ten days that have been inflicted upon the Sky Blue army.  Contains some choice words about Febian Brandy.

Episode 30 - England's Cody McDonald 19.03.2013

This week: It's a full complement of Lamptey boyz again - hoorah. Main topics consuming the Niis this episode include the treatment of McSheffrey, an improved defensive performance and John Fleck: the running brick wall. Contains a special guest appearance by Hartlepool's number 8.

Episode 29 - The A bomb 14.03.2013

This week: The Niis can't work like this. How are you supposed to prepare a cheeky, jaunty podcast, only for the threat of administration to be dropped minutes before you're about to record? This shit's important - so discuss it, we will. Fortunately you can always rely on outrageous Elvis puns (and Ed being in charge of researching the next game) to lighten the mood. Contains outrageous Elvis pun...

Episode 28 - Take the crazy man off 05.03.2013

This week: Another home game and another defeat - this time to an impressive Swindon side. The Niis look over some of the more noticeable individual performances, the influence of Carsley's changes, and the growing understanding between Joe Murphy and that 30 year old ballboy. Contains a chat about Nathan Cameron, don't worry.

Episode 27 - Rousseloisi is born 28.02.2013

This week: With City continuing to blow hot and cold, the Niis are left to navigate the minefield of emotions that accompanied the Crewe and Bournemouth games. Helping them in their quest is Paul Pritchard who made the trip to the seaside. Contains dissenting voices about illogical former player hybrids.

Episode 26 - Zeman4Cov 22.02.2013

This week: Joey's a poorly pup and the Wembley dream is over (for now), but there ain't no stopping these Niis. The show must go on. Let the JPT dissection commence.  Contains completely made up rumours about Czech managers. and some Dan.

Emergency podcast - The departure of Robins 14.02.2013

It's pretty much about Mark Robins buggering off and what the Niis think about it. Contains dramatic music.

Episode 25 - Where's the love? 12.02.2013

This week: Little Eddie W is absent from duty, but there's no stopping the Lamptey express. It's been a rotten 7 days, and while Robins vented his frustration after the defeat to Yeovil, this has certainly split the crew. Contains an unnerving lack of Richard Wood.

Episode 24: The Ricoh horror show 07.02.2013

This week: It's the day after the night before, and the Niis aren't feeling too good. Can they find a way of rationalising what happened? Is the JPT dream completely over? Will Ed ruin Going for Gould again? There's only one way to find out - by treating yourself to another little slice of Lamptey goodness. It'll make you feel better, honest. Contains straw clutching.

Episode 23 - Just call us Rainmen 29.01.2013

This week: It's nearly February, and the Niis are beginning to dream. Next up sees a Friday night match up against fellow play-off hopefuls Sheffield Utd, followed by the big one - a sell out tie against Crewe in the JPT. The crystal balls and calculators are out in force as they attempt to figure out just how things might turn out. Contains yet more incorrect mathematics.

Episode 22 - Fleck's education 22.01.2013

This week: There are two wins for the podders to swoon over, as well as a timely re-assessment of our centre back pairing, and the function of John Fleck in the squad. Contains confectionery snobbery.

Episode 21 - A song for Carl Baker 15.01.2013

This week: The Niis reconvene to balance their glee from the Preston game against the frustration of Carlisle. Knowl brings the Knowl-edge. Joey brings the BANTZ. Ed brings the thesaurus. Neil brings the loins. Contains jip.

Episode 20 - William Edjenguele's new coat 08.01.2013

This week: Cup fever has hit Lamptey Towers and the boys are looking back at the lessons from Spurs, but more keenly towards potentially the biggest game of the season so far; Thursday's JPT clash with Preston. Billy Edge's new attire has also caught their attention, and Neil has trouble with his left and right. Contains plenty of myths getting Crone-busted.

Episode 19 - ...and a Happy Nii Year! 03.01.2013

This week: The Niis are all Quality Streeted out and return to ponder the work of the team over Christmas. They also try tremendously hard to get excited about the forthcoming trip to Spurs. Contains nuts.

Episode 18 - Merry Christmas, you filthy animals 19.12.2012

This week: It's the final Lamptey show before the Christmas period and the Niis are in jovial mood. Ed's otherwise engaged (we think he's a mate of Santa), but this doesn't stop the festive cheer following a phenomenal 4-1 win over Doncaster. The guys also take the chance to review the first half of what's been a topsy turvy campaign thus far. Contains serious predictions.

Episode 17 - Joey Crone's Kevin Kilbane Appreciation Club 11.12.2012

This week: Behold - a keen bunch of Niis, talking about the destruction of Walsall, the McSheffrey revival and an emotional farewell to Kevin Kilbane. Contains a bit of mucky language. Not too much. Don't worry yourselves. It's fine. Swear down.

Episode 16 - Take that geography 06.12.2012

This week: Everyone was so happy after the cup wins, but you just knew it couldn't last. The Niis desperately try to keep upbeat though, and there's still a lot of joy about the penalty redemption against Sheffield Utd. But obviously with the latest statements from ACL and the club, there's some important stuff to talk about. Contains financial natterings.

Episode 15 - The Bean Identity 29.11.2012

This week: Things return to regularity as the four Niis discuss the frustration of not beating Portsmouth, the importance of the upcoming cup games, and scary Ernie Wise. Contains an all-too-detailed description of that  back-pass.

Episode 14 - Shiny happy people 23.11.2012

This week: The Sky Blues have won two on the bounce and everyone's over the moon (even more so than usual). To help discuss these wins, the Niis have recruited some special guests who made the admirable trek to Hartlepool and Colchester, respectively. Contains the occasional Dalek sound. Do not be alarmed.

Episode 13 - The drinks are on Nii! 17.11.2012

This week: It's a party atmosphere in the house of Lamptey as the boys learn about Ratner Effect and Baker uneffect. We talk about the merits of Joe Murphy and his 60 yard conversations, and Richard Wood drops by. Unconvincingly. Several times.  WARNING: Contains 0% actual Richard Wood.

Episode 12 - Wins and Wingdings 08.11.2012

This week: The Lamptinhos describe the kit from the '92 season in some detail, evaluate Fleck's contribution so far and look at everyone else's refusal to pass to Roy O'Donovan. Contains positive football chat.
