The Measure of an Episode: Star Trek Edition

Neither Vin Diesel nor the Rock make an appearance in this episode (though one of them does later). The discussion runs the gamut from Janeway’s protracted mic droppings to alien method acting.

Finally, we’re getting into some of the heavier sci-fi episodes of NextGen, and it’s a damned good one. We’ve christened it the unofficial sequel to The Measure of a Man, the eponymous episode of the podcast. Also, Nick Offerman.

Once again, the crew of the Enterprise is stranded on a rocky planet and we’re forced to make sense of magical beings and late 60s decor. Featuring a couple of guest stars, including Cappy and Zefram Cochrane.

This turned out to be a secret two-parter because whoever wrote the titles these things had a bad day. Robocop is the villain in this one, complete with heavy-handed eugenics philosophy and Michael Bay-style news reporting.

Definitely not the type of manhunt we were expecting. The sentient random episode generator strikes again with a Lwaxana Troi extravaganza. Also, a pointless holodeck plot line.

Hunker down... it's Abraham Lincoln in space! We discuss the crap out of this controversial episode and arrive at some interesting conclusions.
