Jesus Christ is Savior and King for all nations and people! (Ken Canedo)

Our Christmas celebration continues! We honor Mary and pray for peace.

As the Church holds up to us the Holy Family as our model, we may feel a heart pierced by the reality of hurt in our families.

In Jesus Christ, the true light of the world has been born and it is a light that shines throughout the earth.

[The shepherds] went in haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about this child.

"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light . . . Today is born our Savior, Christ the Lord."

...[And] he named him Jesus." In Hebrew, "Jesus" or "Yeshua" means salvation. Let us rejoice and be glad because God's salvation is made known with the birth of his Son, Jesus.

We hear Mary's "yes" to God's will for her life. Her "yes" to the Lord's will brought the Word to birth. We, too, are to say "yes" to God's will so that the Word may be incarnate in us.

Our Advent journey is nearly complete. Let us rejoice!

John the Baptist always pointed the way to Jesus. He is our model for discipleship.

Mary's penultimate "yes" leads to the ultimate of "yes" of Jesus in Gethsemane. As Mary was prepared to give her "yes," let us ask to be prepared for the will of God to be done in our lives.

In this season of Advent, we are reminded to constantly prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord.

At the end of the liturgical year, we profess our faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The Father reconciles all things to himself in our Lord Jesus. (Robert Feduccia)

When we are finally aware of the blessings God has given us, our best way to say "Thank You" is to do what Jesus told the leper he healed: Go out there and proclaim the goodness of God!

As we approach the end of the liturgical year, we are reminded of our need to be vigilant and watchful as we await the coming of the Lord.

In his Parable of the Wedding Feast, Jesus extends God's invitation to all.

When you have done all you have been commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.

If there is any encouragement in Christ, any solace in love, any participation in the Spirit, any compassion and mercy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, with the same love.

The last will be first, and the first will be last.
