Cuervo Devil's Reserve 16.09.2024 1:45
In the liquor business they call it the "shot occasion" i.e. taking a shot, and whether it's a good idea or not, its been around for thousands of years! Fast forward to today and you've got the category leaders like Fireball and Jagermesiter that sell of millions of liters per year for just such occasions. Enter Jose Cuervo's new "Devil's Reserve" It tastes like tequila with a big dose of tropical...
Elijah Craig Toasted Rye 11.09.2024 1:06
New full time TOASTED rye from Elijah Craig! I've always loved the mellow middle-of-the-road style of regular EC rye. At 94 proof it's an easy drinker but adds the perfect amount of spice to a rye Old Fashioned. Add the toasted barrel finish to it and the wood and spice really do take on a new dimension. Rye inflected fruit and grain brushed over with sweet oak. On second thought, maybe a big ro...
Teeling Irish Whiskey Notre Dame Edition 06.09.2024 1:42
The Teeling family has produced some of the best Irish whiskey for decades, combining malt and grain in perfect proportions to compete with the likes of Jameson and Bushmills. Not long after selling their first run at the business to Beam, the Teelings started using their own name, building out an amazing facility in Dublin and continuing their leadership of the revival of this extremely quaffab...
Bomberger's 108 proof 2024 05.09.2024 1:07
If you aren't hip to the Michter's-made Bombergers 108 proof vintage release you need to get up to speed. It doesn't have the Michter's name, so I think it gets overlooked, but it's a true sleeper hit. They age the distillate in Chinquapin oak that has been air-dried for at least 3 years which means the whiskey takes on a very mellow flavor reminiscent of whiskey from the 50s and 60s.
1792 Sweet Wheat Bourbon 05.09.2024 1:03
For all the fanfare that Buffalo Trace's wheated recipes receive (Weller, Pappy) there isn't a lot of hype around the other major Sazerac distillery's 1792 Sweet Wheat, a recipe they've been releasing since 2015. But I think it's time people sit up and take notice. This whiskey is a knock out wheater with a healthy dose of herbs, oak, mint, and caramel on the nose. On the palate, it's sweet, but...
Barkeep Vodka 04.09.2024 1:47
From the owners of St. Elmo's comes a vodka so smooth, it might be TOO SMOOTH? Made from Midwest corn based 6 times distilled vodka, then pressure filtered using a proprietary process, Barkeep literally has no bite wahtsoever. It's extremely clean tasting, almost invisible when mixed with any ingredient. It's the PERFECT well bourbon and one HECK of a value for the price.
Sun Cruiser Iced Tea Lemonade 22.08.2024 1:00
The perfect antidote to fall and winter. From the minds behind Twisted Tea comes Sun Cruiser! The perfect blend of Tea and Lemonade. High Noon beware! 100 Calories 4.5% alc.
Baby Jane Heirloom Corn Bourbon 20.08.2024 1:07
Made from a blend of NY state heirloom corn bourbon and straight Kentucky bourbon, Baby Jane from Widow Jane distillery in NY bucks the trade of undrinkable craft whiskey, maybe because it's only HALF craft whiskey, or they never actually say how much Kentucky whiskey is in the mix, so we'll never know, but not that it matters, because the 91 proof is actually really delicious. Rich earthy caram...
Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Rye 13.08.2024 1:05
The first edition of Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey aged for six years in rickhouse W3 on the third, fourth and fifth floors. It was bottled at barrel proof without chill filtration at 123.2 proof. The corn seed varietal chosen for this release was Beck's 6158. The best part of this new Heaven Hill G2G project is the fact that the mashbills are totally different than no...
Mango Shotta 13.08.2024 1:23
Whenever the creators of Fireball come out with a new "shot" brand, you've got to sit up and take notice. Following the trend of spicy and sweet, this tequila based, mango and jalapeno based shot brand is everything you need in your life right now! 52 proof with the perfect amount of heat, sweetness, and fruit, give it a "shot" and see what happens!
Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Bourbon 06.08.2024 1:12
High starch, higher alcohol yielding corn seed from Beck's, an Indiana based company, ultimately makes better bourbon. In the case of Heaven Hill's new Grain to Glass project, Beck's seed 6158 worked perfectly in the rolling hills and rockier soils of central Kentucky to produce a 6+yr old 107 proof, 35% rye bourbon with ripe tropical fruit and lanolin notes on the nose, followed by very soft fr...
Double Eagle Rare 05.08.2024 1:03
Let's take a look at this $10,000 bottle of Double Eagle Rare. There's no way I can taste this bottle considering we only have ONE, but compared to other ultra luxury offerings, I think this bottling steps up more than any others. For one, it's a great liquid at an age and proof worthy of the price point, but the presentation of the bottle, the glass blown eagle in the bottom as well as the glas...
Weller Millennium 30.07.2024 2:05
Watch Matt clumsily unbox a Weller Millennium, a "blend of vintage straight bourbon and wheat whiskeys distilled in 2000, 2003, 2005 and 2006, Weller Millennium highlights the impact that wheat has on the whiskey's flavor: the softness imparted by the wheat creates a smoother, sweeter, more approachable expression. By marrying these exceptional spirits together, the whiskeys further harmonize with...
Four Roses 2024 Single Barrel OESO Big Red Liquors 25.07.2024 0:58
The second BRL barrel of Four Roses is an OESO, 20% rye with the "rich fruit" yeast bottled at 9 years and 3 months at 115.8 proof from warehouse S on the north side, tier 2. On the nose, strong pine earth, blackberry, cinnamon, and generally dark fruit. On the palate, very layered with rose, lemon, dark berry, and rich cinnamon spice. Always enjoy the relatively lower proof Four Roses single ba...
Four Roses 2024 Single Barrel OBSV Cap n' Cork 24.07.2024 1:08
Our first Cap n' Cork single barrel features an OBSV aged 10 years and 10 months and bottled at 116.8 proof. The already fruity high rye bourbon, combined with the fruity "V" yeast makes this one of the most elegant and ethereal Four Roses combos. The addition of almost 11 years of aging further increases the complexity, adding a Canadianesque layer of fine vanilla and fresh-cut oak to this frui...
Four Roses 2024 Single Barrel OBSK Big Red Liquors 23.07.2024 1:00
We kick off a whole week of Four Roses single barrel reviews with Big Red Liquors OBSK, a 9 year, 3 month old bottle at 120.2 proof. The 35% rye recipe bourbon combined with the spice-driven "K" yeast strain has never failed to disappoint. This particular barrel also has a rich caramel/butterscotch note on the nose along with the typical Four Roses baking spice aroma. On the palate it's pure cin...
Remus Babe Ruth Reserve 22.07.2024 1:13
The new Remus "Babe Ruth" reserve is a blend of three of MGPs high rye bourbon recipes in honor of Babe Ruth. Only 10,624 bottles were produced, each representing one of Ruth's plate appearances. Bottled at 111 proof, the blend comprises 12% of 2016 of the 44% rye bourbon, 70% of 49% rye bourbon, and 18% of the 36% rye bourbon, so for a Bourbon it's about as rye heavy as you can get, which is gr...
Glenlivet 12yr Single Malt 18.07.2024 1:48
The lantern shaped stills at Glenlivet have produced the world's top selling single malt for decades, imparting a light, tropical fruit and orchard aroma that sets the standard. Apples, pears, pineapples, and a touch of citrus lead the way with a creamy soft vanilla and poached pear flavor that never disappoints. To call it "light" is to do a disservice to this elegantly flavored malt. Bottled a...
Maker's Mark Heart Release 16.07.2024 1:19
Finished with ten virgin oak staves, this latest release from Maker's Mark in the wood-finished series is meant to commemorate and honor the folks who work at Maker's Mark in Loretto. Named the Heart release and bottled at 111.7 proof, the virgin oak staves have made this a real caramel bomb with milk chocolate, butterscotch and wood-spice notes not typically found in standard Maker's. If some o...
Knob Creek Bourbon World 1951 Warehouse, Floor 5 15.07.2024 1:12
Our second Knob Creek single barrel in our warehouse series is from the 1951 Warehouse K. This was aged on the 5th floor of a 7 floor traditional rickhouse which contains only 20,400 barrels as opposed to the newer 50,000 barrel warehouses. Bold nuts and caramel on the nose with almond and baking spices. On the palate, lots of dried fruit notes with barrel spice emerging on the finish. The diffe...
Monkey Shoulder Scotch 12.07.2024 1:48
Monkey Shoulder is one of the best values in scotch because it's essentially Glenfiddich, Balvenie, and Kininvie blended together. Three fantastic single malts. No grain whiskey anywhere and at around $30 bucks, the low-key malty goodness and the fresh malt fruit note contribute to a huge value proposition on both the low end and high end of the category.
Knob Creek Bourbon World 2006 Warehouse Floor 6 11.07.2024 1:24
There are 30 rickhouses on the Clermont campus, and we're trying to pull a single barrel over time from each and every one of them, starting with the newest warehouse, built in 2006 with a barrel capacity of 50,400 barrels and 7 total floors. This selection from Warehouse 1 is from the 6th floor bottled at 120 proof, and is pure bourbon candy on the nose with praline, almond, and candied orange....

Luxury English gin handcrafted with 24 botanicals in the Surrey Hills. Full-bodied and fresh with clarity and depth of flavor. It's a rich, clean, juniper-driven spirit with floral layers of lavender and chamomile. Fresh notes of citrus and kaffir lime are grounded with the subtle sweetness of local honey, creating a well-balanced gin that's both traditional and refreshingly individual. Its insp...
2XO American Oak 09.07.2024 1:20
Let's take a look at Dixon Dedman's most affordable of the 2XO (two times oak) brand, "American Oak," a whiskey which is finished a second time in HIGHLY charred barrels. Double oak or double barrel finishes have been very popular in recent years, but often the results are mixed. So much flavor is derived from the barrel, that adding a NEW freshly charred barrel to the mix can greatly affect the...
