The Itch Rock Podcast

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, The Itch is joined by our friend Trev Allen of The Struggling Artist Podcast to discuss the Boston music scene, punk rock, and how the Dropkick Murphys were a gateway to both! It's a fun follow-up conversation after our recent appearance on his show! Check out our ongoing Flavor of the Week playlist , and then connect with us! itchrocks.com Twitter.com/itchrocks...

We're doing a totally original and not-at-all-derivative thing! The Itch has decided that it's time for a listener-voted tournament to crown a winner of the prestigious "Future Episode Recipient" title. We've chosen 16 bands that got frequent airplay on our radio show but have yet to be discussed on the podcast. We're pitting them against each other this month to see who you love most, a...

Within a single year, Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless was faced with the deaths of both her rock hero and her musical muse. Her downward spiral and climb back from the brink led to Death By Rock and Roll , one of the first great albums of 2021. In this episode, The Itch explores the album, as well as the infamous "27 Club" and the classic rock influences that weave throughout. We al...

We're back and we're mildly rebranded! While we put the finishing touches on everything from guest spots to new art, we're here to celebrate our Itchiversary with a mission statement, a few teases about what's to come, and a bit of bro love to top it all off. Enjoy. This episode doesn't have a playlist, but it does have a companion episode! Check out our first time being interviewed with Trev Alle...

Alright, so this conversation has virtually nothing to do with music. But since it's snowing everywhere and we're excited for our official return this coming Monday, we decided to share a little side conversation from our season premiere recording that was prompted by Dan asking about our favorite snow memories. Enjoy, and feel free to share your memories with us! itchrocks.com Twitter.com/itchroc...

We're almost ready to return! In the meantime, here's one last revisit to one of our favorite episodes of last season: our conversation with Sean Dowdell of Grey Daze. Enjoy his stories about life with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, and our newly recorded intro about Amends...Stripped , a collection of acoustic versions of Amends tracks using alternate takes of Chester Bennington 's vocals. Ch...

Alright, so even after releasing the extended version of our Rock 'n' Rasslin' episode, KC and Aaron STILL had one more bit left over to share. If you can ignore the lower audio quality (that's the last time we experiment with a recording service called "Cleanfeed") and turn on your imagination, you'll discover the endless possibilities that could have been ... with The Greatest Wrestlin...

When Dan went on vacation last year, KC and Aaron found the perfect topic to talk about while their Itch brother was gone: Rock 'n' Rasslin' . In fact, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we had to cut the episode down to keep it anywhere close to our standard length. So as a bonus for those who appreciate the show and appreciate wrestling, we're releasing the extended version of this episode as a p...

After months of garnering attention with his impressive and amusing consistency on Twitter , Max Collins and Eve 6 finally announced a release date for their new EP, Grim Value , and dropped Black Nova , their first new track in nearly a decade. And even though The Itch is still on break to plan for season 2, we couldn't resist getting together to talk about it. And our feelings on everything are....

In case you missed it the first time or haven't listened to the full episode yet, this is the closing segment of our Black Rock Matters episode. Give it a listen, and then connect with us and let us know which rockers of color have made...

Episode 10 was one of our early favorites. We got to research, ponder, and present a History 101 overview of some of the many black artists who have played a role in the formation of rock music as we know it, as well as in the formation of The Itch itself. In celebration of Black History Month, we're revisiting it to celebrate this rich history. Enjoy! Check out this episode's epic playlist , and...

It's time! Since institutions like Pitchfork, the Grammys, and the even the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame struggle to define, much less always honor rock, The Itch has taken it upon ourselves to nominate artists for prestigeless rock bragging rights and imaginary trophies. It's the first ever Itch Awards, and YOU will choose who wins! After you've finished the episode, we'd love to hear your voice. V...
