Controversy was at the forefront of a wild weekend in the Big East and I'll discuss why that was and also go more in-depth on it in my latest Ice Breaker. Also on this episode is a preview of the home-and-home between Butler and #25 UConn this week with Henry Bredemeier from the Butler Collegian and Michael Solomon from UConn SSN.

Shockingly, only one Big East game fell victim to COVID this week and I'll recap the games that did happen and look ahead to a weekend slate that features a rivalry renewed at Madison Square Garden between Georgetown and St. John's and some high-stakes matchups for Villanova WBB in the midwest against DePaul and Marquette!

In yet another exciting weekend of Big East hoops, the UConn women returned to action for the first time in three weeks with a big home win over Creighton. On the men's side, Georgetown returned to the court from a lengthy pause of their own and started off conference play by getting crushed by Marquette by 28 at home. I'll discuss that and more on this new episode of The Igloo!

The Creighton women's basketball team is off to a red-hot 4-0 start to Big East play and on this episode, head coach Jim Flanery joins the show to discuss his team's early-season success and a huge weekend of action ahead before getting put on "The Cold Seat"!

On this first episode of "The Igloo" in 2022, I'll discuss which teams across Big East basketball started the new year on the right foot and what to expect coming up tomorrow and Wednesday on the men's side with both games scheduled on the women's side getting cancelled, including one non-conference matchup that was only recently added

Only four games in the Big East across men's and women's hoops took place this week and I'll recap what happened in those games, including #21 Providence beating #15 Seton Hall on the men's side and Xavier crushing Butler at home on the women's side. After all that, I'll make my picks on both sides for what should be a loaded slate of games for New Year's Weekend.

Only 2 of the 7 scheduled games in Big East men's basketball last week took place because of COVID and I'll recap the games that happened while I also discuss last week's action the women's side. I'll also provide updates on other games that have postponed coming up and make my picks for the games that will be played on Wednesday, although it won't be that many.

Sunday's highlights from around Big East women's basketball featured DePaul beating St. John's in a high-scoring affair in Queens and Seton Hall beating Marquette for their first conference win following a disappointing 0-2 start. I'll discuss that and the last games before the Christmas break.

The first weekend of Big East play in men's basketball delivered multiple surprises as Creighton obliterated No. 9 Villanova in Omaha while Providence upset No. 20 UConn in Hartford. I'll cover that, as well No. 22 Xavier's home win over Marquette and the rest of this weekend's action, in the opening segment. UConn superstar Paige Bueckers had knee surgery on Monday and the timetable set for her recovery was 8 weeks. Russell Steinberg from Boardroom joins me to discuss how UConn will fare without her during those 8 weeks. I'll also make my weekend picks, which include three league games happening Sunday afternoon.

The final leg of "The Battle" will take place on Saturday in Washington, D.C. when Georgetown hosts TCU. Joining me to preview this game is Pat Waring. I'll also discuss the first slate of conference games that will happen this weekend and make my picks for them too.

Big East women's basketball also had a very successful weekend as UConn bounced back with a win at the Never Forget Tribute Classic over UCLA, Seton Hall picked up its biggest win of the season to date over Princeton, and Villanova upset #23 Oregon State. I'll recap that and the rest of the action from around the conference and more on this edition of The Igloo!

With the exception of losses from Marquette and Villanova to UCLA and Baylor respectively, it was another successful weekend for the Big East. I'll discuss why that was and look ahead to a very short slate of games coming up this week as conference play tips off this Friday.

After the first week of action in "The Battle", the Big East have split their four games with the Big 12 thus far. I'll recap the three games that took place over the weekend, as well as Marquette/Wisconsin, the return of the Ocean State Cup, and DePaul's first loss of the year. Also on this episode is a preview of the next four games in "The Battle" this week with Pat Madden and Cooper Watson.

The Big East seized Round 1 of the Big East/Big 12 Battle when Providence took down Texas Tech on Wednesday at home. I'll recap that game, as well as the rest of Tuesday and Wednesday's games around the conference. I'll also preview this weekend's games, which includes the renewal of the Rhode Island/Providence rivalry and Marquette visiting Wisconsin.

On the women's side, a total of four Big East squads competed in Feast Week tournaments over Thanksgiving weekend. I'll recap how each team did, as well as recap all of the other action from this past week around the league.

As surprising as it may sound, the Big East/Big 12 Battle will tip off this Wednesday in Providence when Texas Tech visits the Friars. Joining me to preview that game and three others are Ryan Patti and Pat Madden. I'll also recap the rest of Feast Week around the league and preview other upcoming action for Tuesday and Wednesday.

UConn suffered their first defeat of the 2021-22 season, falling to top-ranked South Carolina by 16 in the Women's Battle 4 Atlantis championship game. I'll also recap their other two games in Atlantis, the rest of the weekend, and preview other Big East WBB teams' upcoming Feast Week tournaments this week!

The Big East now has 4 teams in the latest AP poll as Seton Hall and Xavier join previously ranked Villanova and UConn in the poll. Feast Week is gonna ramp up as more than half of the conference will be competing in tournaments this week. I'll preview all of those, as well as recap what happened over the weekend with Marquette, Creighton, and Villanova competing in the early portion of Feast Week...

For the first time since its inception, the Big East has won the Gavitt Games outright! I'll discuss how they did it, my takeaways from the entire week, and look ahead to a solid slate of action coming up this weekend.

With exactly one week until Thanksgiving, Feast Week is officially underway in college hoops and it features a loaded field for the Women's Battle 4 Atlantis down in The Bahamas, headlined by UConn. I'll preview that tournament and make my predictions for it as well. On top of that, I'll preview the rest of the weekend slate around the Big East and recap all the action from the past few days too.
