You would think the birth of Jesus would draw an important audience or take place in a luxurious location. However our savior way born on a regular quiet night in the most humbling places.

That “something” is tied up in what’s known as his “trifold office” of Prophet, Priest, and King. Jesus did not come to just exist among us, but He came to complete a perfect work that can never be undone....

Description: John’s Gospel takes a different turn from the other three Gospel accounts. He seems to have no concern with genealogies or the manger narrative that we love to review during the Christmas season. John is preoccupied with highlighting the deity of Jesus and the significance of him coming in the flesh.  

Paul is using ‘grace’ more broadly as shorthand for the presence of God – sustaining, empowering, calming, supporting, comforting, emboldening, satisfying. ‘My grace is sufficient for you’ means ‘I am sufficient for you.’

Have you ever felt discarded — by those closest to you, by society at large, or even because of your own shortcomings? In this text we find Jesus crossing every barrier to love and restore His people.

Fighting the pull to go astray is part of this journey. Some times are more challenging than others, in this chapter we see how easy it is to misstep even when we try hard to do right.

Oftentimes, it’s the hidden sin that catches up with individuals after having the opportunity to seek forgiveness. In Chapter 8, we see life after the destruction that sin causes. The do over, the second chance, found in the forgiveness of Jesus. 

People often disqualify a gift or a simple act of service because it may be small compared to others. However, Jesus teaches his students an important lesson about sacrificial giving by pointing out the faithfulness of a poor widow. 

One definition of cultivation is to try to develop and improve something. The passage about the talents gives us a reminder of the Lord's expectation for His image bearers to cultivate until He returns. 

We can learn from victories and failures. In fact ,we can see the depth of God's love and grace when we fall short. 

Joshua and the Israelites are on the doorstep of Jericho and they are about to go into battle. We will look at the preparation before the battle and how God refocuses Joshua. We will see the execution of their plan and how the plan is unorthodox but they trust God. Then we will see them rest in the victory and seeing how God keeps His promises.

Have you ever wondered, what is God’s mission in the world? What does he want to do in my life? This Sunday we will look to 2 Corinthians 3:12-18 and revelation 22:1-5 to see that God’s mission is our transformation for His glory as we seek to live for eternity.

We have all struggled to remember how the Lord has helped and delivered us in the past. The Lord instructs Joshua to tell the people to gather future reminders of His faithfulness. 

It's time to move forward! Joshua begins giving instructions to make moves toward Jericho. However, this military campaign has God at the lead.

What is leadership? What is good leadership? What is godly leadership? After Joshua receives the instructions from the Lord, he turns and lays out the objectives for the people to follow. Joshua shows us how a leader, called by the Lord should lead.

In baseball, being on deck means your next up to bat. Can you imagine the players in the dugout watching and analyzing the batters every move? It's very easy to be critical when all eyes aren't on you. Joshua is next up, God has called him into the game. "Moses my servant is dead. Now arise..."

There are a few places where every person should feel seen, loved and valued no matter their position, economic status or ethnicity. Families, communities and governments can fail us all by treating people with partiality, however, Jesus’ church is command to excel in handling people properly.
