The Hair Metal Guru

Music EN ↓ 456 episodes

Welcome to the Haircast! They call me the Hair Metal Guru. My name is Anthony, and I'm a retired Army veteran and former high school English teacher who lives for music. The main focus here will be hair metal, and the content will run the gamut--there will be rankings, reviews and commentary about happenings in the era of '80s hard rock. Does that mean I'll only talk about hair metal? Hell no. Could Bryan Adams creep into the conversation? Nirvana? Yes. But if you love hair metal, this is the place for you. Buckle up.

Over the years alcohol ended up being a huge problem for both Jani and I. In 2003, I deployed with my National Guard unit to Iraq for 16 months, and that led to me getting sober on July 4th, 2004. Unfortunate...

In this episode, I go into detail about 10 of my favorite albums that, for whatever reason, never hit the big time, even though they had the songs and the talent to do so. Everyone knows the heavy weights--the Poisons, Warrants, and Cinderellas, but I'm here to talk about bands that I love JUST as much: Wildside, Dirty Looks, Rhino Bucket, Tuff, Sleeze Beez, McQueen Street, Roxy Blue, Lillian...
