In the book of James, the author talks about a certain kind of faith that we ought to have as opposed to another kind that does not work. Join us as we break down what a faith that works looks like.

When it comes to our speech, James says that humankind is a spring that produces both sweet water and salty water. That with the same mouth praise God but curse people. And James also says that this shouldn't be so. There is a need for God's people especially to be speakers of life!

Simply hearing God's word is not enough for true life change to occur. That's thanks to this thing called "forgetting." We can forget ourselves and who God has called us to be so easily. That's why James tells not to be mere listeners, but doers of God's word. He tells us to think of the Word as a mirror and to gaze into often.

In the first chapter of The Book of James, James calls for followers of Christ to be demonstrators of their faith. He opens the chapter by telling them and us to count it all joy when we face trials of various kinds. Not if, but when. See, the cross may have been where Christ finished his work but it is where our lives began. His resurrection which we will celebrate on Easter Sunday is the seal on that new life!

God did not just set us free from the punishment of sin, he set us free from the bondage of sin. And many people looking for us in the places we were held captive may just find that we're no longer there.
