The Gift of Healing is given. It is received and has its effects. The giver need not concern himself with its efficacy when he knows the Holy Spirit gives with certainty of the outcome. We can step back and accept the Atonement for ourselves in a healing role, and allow the Holy Spirit to affect the healing in us, and in the one with whom we are sharing.

The Function of the Teacher of God is to help his brother change his mind. What was sickness before is seen as an error in his thinking. The Mind is restored back to its original settings of health and Divine Connection. Death is seen as a “wrong choice” rather than an inevitable end. Eternal Life is our Self as God Created us.

Can we give up our false sense of "autonomy" by making our self sick? And eventually dead? When we are "sick" we are not tapping into our Mind that can heal us. When we align our Mind with the Will of God, then perfect health is the result. We can work with the Thoughts of God that are our real thoughts.
