The Generations Radio Program

There is a danger lurking when American pentecostals or baptists or anybody denies God’s sovereignty.  Although people may call themselves Christians, what happens when it turns out they are worshiping the wrong god?  When Benny Hinn’s nephew and assistant learns about the sovereignty of God, everything changes.

Certain songs have been outrageously popular because they have broken through social mores and sexual barriers — and “Baby It’s Cold Outside”  is in that category. Is this woman more concerned about what her neighbors would think or what God would think, if she spends the night with this guy?  Are the Me Too people more concerned about a sin against God, or a sin against somebody else?   We also t...

Every pastor in America should hear this program! They came for the Mennonites, and I did not speak out.  They came for a Fundamentalist Baptist who read from Proverbs 13:24, and I did not speak out. . .  Although very few Christian ministries or news programs would cover this, there are real instances where Christians are going to prison in America.  A pastor teaches from Proverbs 13:24, and gets...

When it comes to an important step in the right direction, the Republican leadership in the Supreme Court and the White House will go the wrong direction — you can count on it. It was our last chance to defund Planned Parenthood for the foreseeable future, and again, the Republicans failed. Justice Brett Kavanaugh promised he would not reverse Roe v. Wade, and he is keeping his promise. Pro-abort...

God grows our faith and our love through trials.   In fact, these become some of the best opportunities in which to manifest love.  When a major trial like cancer hits, immediately God provides a wonderful field in which love may begin to function in the family and the church.  Marisa Henley, a survivor of a rare form of cancer, explains how to love your friend through cancer, based on her recent...

The evangelical crisis is showing itself in the American evangelical college - and Azusa Pacificis the battleground.  Two board members have resigned pointing to a faith retrograde at the college. And, what is the most dangerous department in the Christian College? It is always the Theology Department, of course. The major attack however is centered around feminism, social justice, and sexual ethi...

Stephen Colbert, host of the “Late Show” claims to be a Christian having received a Gideon’s New Testament on one cold Chicago day. We also discuss the dangers of listening to online sermons to the neglect of the lo...

Lauren Daigel is the most famous Christian in America today. She’s the first major crossover Christian female singer since Amy Grant, and her latest album hit #3 on Billboard’s 300.  For her moment of truth, when she was questioned on the watershed idolatrous issue of the day. . .she blinked, she faltered, she tripped, and fell.  We talk about how Jesus failed the popularity contest and the trap o...

President George H.W. Bush has died, and his last words were. . . Heaven. . ."That is where I want to go.”   President George H.W. Bush left a legacy of Planned Parenthood Title X funding, and support for homosexual marriage.  He increased funding for Planned Parenthood and Title X funding during his presidency after President Reagan decreased it.  Then, he moved towards supporting  homosexua...

Can a Christian fall into a marital affair, and is there a possibility for redemption and reconciliation?  Kevin Swanson speaks with Michael Gembola, Director of Blue Ridge Counseling Center and author of the new book “After an Affair — Pursuing Restoration.”  What does true repentance and real restoration look like when the building has burned down, and the construction has to begin anew?

“Love me tender. Love me true. Make all my dreams come true.” What happens to young kids who are absorbed in romantic love and the popular media that promotes a self-oriented romanticism? Worldviews matter when it comes to the music our children listen to, and so much of the music is tied into a self-orientation.  The Greatest Love of All is not self-love, but a love for God.  We study the worldvi...

Your nephew wants to come over for Christmas dinner. . . only trouble is, he wants to come dressed up as a girl.  An uncle wants to sleep over with his girlfriend or boyfriend in your house. . .  but that’s okay because he just brought 20 gifts for the kids, and he’s quickly becoming their favorite uncle. How do Christians interact with the world without rendering approval for the sinful behavior...

The world explodes over cultural appropriations and misappropriations.  Actor and comedian, Kevin Hart is in trouble when he threw a Cowboys and Indians party for his son.  Should our boys be playing Cowboys and Indians these days? Do we as Christians get fixated on cultural expressions, as the world does? What cultural expressions might we use from pagan cultures, and which ones might we avoid?  ...

Harry Potter is the biggest pop-cultural phenomenon in the post-Christian zeitgeist today. The tenth movie in the franchise raked in $400 million last week at the box office. After reading the eighteenth encouragement from Christian reformed/classical/literary enthusiasts to embrace Harry Potter, Kevin Swanson finally reads the book and watches a Harry Potter film. Shall we encourage our eight-yea...

The political situation surrounding feminism, social justice, and the zeitgeist is bowling over evangelicalism and threatens to split the Southern Baptist Convention in half.  Christians are terribly confused about the Marxist standard of justice (social justice) and a biblical standard of justice.  Must Christians support government welfare programs and the redistribution of the wealth? What is j...

The Christian thinker, Francis Schaeffer presciently described "The Great Evangelical Disaster" in 1984 before he died.   Evangelicalism shrinks back from confrontation because evangelicals have found a single ethic and they tenaciously hold to it - T.O.L.E.R.A.N.C.E.  The problem is not just the refusal to confrontation, but it's a basic, basic flaw in the worldview.   As it now re...

Short term missions trip are en vogue for American churches looking for something to do for their teens (and hoping they might just get saved on the trip).  But, now a new campaign is trying to stop these “harmful” missions trips to orphanages especially.  What’s the first requirement for missions, before anybody even thinks about going on a missions trip?  We lay down the most essential pre-requi...

We review the history of Thanksgiving from 1621, and the official Thanksgiving holidays in the 13 colonies. Then we take a look at the first national Thanksgiving proclamation issued by President George Washington. Finally, we counter the politically correct view of the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. Was it a blessing that Christianity broke into the pagan world of North America controlled by...

Are the Baptists loosening their standards concerning alcohol (especially with their colleges and seminaries)? We review the history of alcohol and the Baptists since the 1830's. It can be hard to believe that segments of the American church have held the wrong standard and definitions of godliness for over a hundred years, but all of us tend towards external, manmade conceptions of godliness...

The year 2018 in television is being labelled the “Year of the Witch.” Thirteen year old girls are being indoctrinated in cannibalism, blood sacrifice, and selling souls to Satan — and this is presented as an admirable and wonderful thing. It’s time to wake up and smell the napalm in the War of the Worldviews. This sure ain’t “Family Ties” and “I Love Lucy” anymore.  We discuss the strong connecti...

Here is a story of the nanny state in Kansas City squelching private charities who are trying to reach out to the homeless. Then, there is the beastly state in Scotland mandating indoctrination in sexual perversion for all kids, including those in Catholic schools. Why must the Catholic schools comply to this? That is our question. Christians should never worship the state, or offer sacrifices to...

When godless men lead, they will take God’s Name in vain in a very public manner. Although there are many other things wrong with them, this is what gets them in trouble more than anything else. The basic problem with America is that Americans take God’s Name in vain, and they do not fear God. Is it really that simple?   David French warns of the post-religious right as well as the post-religious...
