Listening is an act of love. To listening well requires asking good questions. Jesus led by asking good questions. Neuroscience reveals that asking good questions is powerful. How to ask good questions.

Love is not easily offended, and yet we are being taught a new philosophy today. Rather than learning to overlook an offense, we are being trained to look for offense. This is destructive. Let’s follow Jesus’ example and forgive those who offend us so we can help bring more unity, not more division.

We are to be a truth telling people, but we live in an age that denies the existence of absolute truth. How do we communicate truth to people for whom it is irrelevant? We earn the opportunity by loving them before we speak. The greatest way to do this is to listen with love. To love is to listen and to listen is to love.
