The Game Idea Guy Discussions

So at Gamescom, the news of a potential Anti-Cheat type of copy protection for the Nintendo Switch was revealed to be in the works...and a day later, we found out that it wasn't Nintendo that commissioned it. Here are my thoughts.

So with all of the stuff that has recently come out about the Amico and how it was being handled, I decided that I would talk about whether or not the actual concept behind the Amico would have been any good.

This was something that I figured needed to be discussed because I don't think that many people actually understand how something like this would potentially work. It's not a simple copy and paste of code for it to run on another platform, even if the machine is far and away superior on the hardware side.

This is a trend that I have been seeing a bit more recently, so I decided that I would spend the time to talk about some of the nuances that people miss when they bring these discussions up.

So the interwebs have done it again... they've confused me over a very big non-issue. Therefore, I am going to give my thoughts on the chaos as it stands at the moment.

So hearing the news about another contender trying to enter into the home console space, I did a little looking in Polium and decided to give my current thoughts.

For this discussion, I'm just doing my part to explain for those who don't know, various reasons why some games don't come to the Nintendo Switch outside of the hardware it has.

I had a few further things to say as there were some things that I noticed and felt it needed to be addressed.

I just wanted to give some of my thoughts on this situation that has been developing over a good deal of time.

There is currently a decision going on among the gaming community that both Fire Emblem and Xenoblade Chronicles have too much representation on the Switch. So, I decided to talk about it.

This is something that is regularly up for discussion, so I decided to just ramble on a little bit about it.

This discussion covers the recent Sony State of Play which was technically before Summer Games Fest, but it was close enough to still count it among the showings. So I jump in and give my opinions.

So in this follow up to the discussion about the Xbox-Bethesda showings, I dive into what Capcom had to show. And I have a few minor complaints about a game that I wish they would finally use the RE Engine to make.

So I wanted to talk about this subject again versus how I covered it before a few years back, just to explain what I think and then add nuance to "I don't want representation just for the sake of it".

So this particular discussion was inspired by Rob of Rule of 2 Review, and just wanted to give my thoughts on why gamers and the community as a whole can't really just accept a game for being a good game.

YES! You do get a second episode of The X Zone launched on the same day as another one. This episode combines the likes of Fire Emblem and Shining Force. I'm honestly surprised that Sega and Nintendo haven't done this yet. It's money just waiting to be claimed.

Late, but not forgotten, this episode of The X Zone involves bringing together the likes of Tomb Raider and Uncharted. They're both big names in adventuring and treasure hunting, so it just makes a good deal of sense to cross these two over.

This is a phrase that has been used multiple times by varying sources and I decided to give a little bit of an analysis of what "Pushing The Industry Forward" actually means for the gaming industry. I'm definitely open to hearing what others opinions are on this matter.

For this episode of #TheXZone, I cover a potential crossover for the likes of #MegaMan and #RokkoChan. This is something that I personally think would be great to see happen. So Nintendo is in hot water now with a complaint that was filed with the National Labor Relations Board. They gave a response and I give my thoughts on the current matters of the situation.

This discussion was going to happen one way or another with direction that the gaming industry has been trudging along. It truly doesn't surprise me that this is on the table as something to consider right now.

For this Manga 2 Game Discussion, I talk about a series that I believe doesn't get enough attention for the quality story and universe that it is, and that's Chivalry of a Failed Knight. I would love to see this adapted into a video game so that more people could be able to get engaged with it and potentially be interested enough to get the anime a second season.
