Welcome to The FLOT Line, with your host, Rick Hughes. For the next 30 minutes, you will be inspired, motivated, and educated, but never manipulated. FLOT is an acronym for Forward Line of Troops. The show teaches principles from the Bible and focuses on God’s 10 unique problem-solving devices. If you choose to learn and apply them, they will act as a main line of resistance in your soul, a FLOT line, preventing the outside sources of adversity from becoming the inside pressure of stress in your soul. The intent is to give you information to help you identify the plan of God for your life.

A Divine Pardon, Part 6 (2016) 15.11.2024

All of us have a pardon freely given by God through the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for us and paid our penalty. If you accept this and believe in Jesus Christ then you have this divine pardon and the guarantee of eternal life. “He that believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God” (1 John 5:1). “These things are written so that you may know that you have...

A Divine Pardon, Part 5 (2016) 14.11.2024

Satan can’t make you do anything. He can tempt you and your sin nature can tempt you, but the source of all sin is your volition. You choose to sin. Base your decisions on thought, not emotions. The Word of God in your soul is the only thing that will sustain you, carry you through adversity and prosperity in life. Don’t dwell on past failures. “Forgetting those things that are behind” (Phil 3:13)...

A Divine Pardon, Part 4 (2016) 13.11.2024

Accept the divine pardon God offers you by belief in His Son and you become a brand-new person in Christ. “If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things are passed away and all things become new” (2 Col 5:17). As a Christian, you can talk directly to God. You can pray anytime, anywhere, any day and you can get answers to your prayers. Beware of arrogance. Arrogance can’t handle authori...

A Divine Pardon, Part 3 (2016) 11.11.2024

Sin quenches and grieves the Holy Spirit and you must use rebound, confess your sin to God, to have an effective spiritual life. A Divine Pardon, Part 1 (2016) 09.11.2024

Our Lord granted a Divine Pardon to a criminal crucified beside Him on the cross because the criminal “believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and was saved” (Acts 16:31). You also can get a Divine Pardon. “Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). As long as you are alive, God has a reason for you being here. Regardless of your faults and failures, God has a plan for...

Resurrection (2016) 08.11.2024

Jesus Christ lives in you IF you have made the decision to believe in Him. “Christ in you the hope of glory” (Col 1:27) is the confidence we have in our resurrection life. “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die” (John 11:25-26). When Jesus Christ walked out of the grave this is a signature guara...

Surveying the Times (2016) 07.11.2024

As Americans, we can stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, giving us the advantage of surveying the times from the height of their perspective. Our country was built on core values and founded on the divine institutions of freedom, marriage, family, and nationalism. These values act as a rudder to keep us on course. Your family and your church are where you develop your norms an...

Learn to be Content (2016) 06.11.2024

"I have learned to be content” (Phil 4:11). Contentment is the capacity for life. You need to learn and apply God’s Word to be content. The more you learn, the more faith you have. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom 10:17). The rate of learning must exceed the rate of forgetting. Be aware, that Satan wants to distract you so you don’t study and learn God’s Word. The less...

Being in Christ (2016) 04.11.2024

We are all one in Christ. There are no racial divisions in the plan of God. As Christians, we are all in the Royal Family of God. No racial issues. “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus … For you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Gal 3:26-28). You are secure in Christ. Now and for all eternity. “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1...

The Heart (2016) 03.11.2024

“As a man thinks in his heart, so he is” (Prov 23:7). Your heart is the real you. Be heart-healthy! Learn God’s Word. God's Word stored in your heart, becomes wisdom. Guard it and use it to make wise decisions. “Incline your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding” (Prov 2:2). This isn’t emotions. It is the strength of God’s essence in your heart from learning and applying God’s Wo...

The Standards of God for the Nation (2016) 02.11.2024

The survival of our nation depends on your attitude toward God’s Word and our nation’s adherence to God’s standards. God’s standards include four divine institutions: The Individual with volition, the freedom to choose; Marriage; Family; and Nationalism. They were ordained by God in eternity past for the function of a nation. “Let us walk properly in the day” (Rom 13:13). When we compromise our co...

Satanic Devices, Part 3 (2016) 01.11.2024

Satan’s strategy is to exploit your weaknesses and to outwit your objectives. He does it through a three-pronged attack: the world, the flesh (your sin nature), and himself. If you can’t get victory over the world and your sinful nature, Satan isn’t going to worry about you.  “God will not allow you to be tested more than you are able” (1 Cor 10:13). Testing often comes in one of two forms—people...

Satanic Devices, Part 2 (2016) 31.10.2024

Hear, keep and apply God’s Word. This is how you counter Satanic devices. “Happiness belongs to those who hear My Father’s Word and keep it” (Luke 11:2). To do this it’s essential you get under the ministry of a well-qualified pastor because this man’s job is to shepherd your soul. “Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God that He might promote you at the proper time” (1 Pet 5:6). A humility p...

Satanic Devices, Part 1 (2016) 30.10.2024

Don’t be ignorant of Satan’s schemes. “So that no advantage be taken of us” (2 Cor 2:11). Satan’s objective is to exploit your weaknesses, outwit your objectives and circumvent God’s desires for you. The world is controlled by Satan, and he uses it as a decoy to lure you. He will offer you happiness and security, but he can’t provide either. “Do not love the world or the things of the world. If an...

Where Are the Men, Part 5 (2016) 28.10.2024

Faith is the trait God is looking for in all of us. “Without faith, it is impossible to please God.” To be the person God intends for you to be you need to adhere to and follow the protocol plan of God and develop your spiritual life. Then God can use you. God can’t use cowards. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim 1:7). God can’t use a s...

Where Are the Men, Part 4 (2016) 27.10.2024

God is looking for humble people. Humility is teachability. If you’re unwilling to learn God’s plan, God can’t use you, despite your efforts, energy, and desires. God is looking for those with positive volition, hunger for learning the Word of God, and committed to making it a daily habit. Learn and apply to grow spiritually. Renovate your thinking from a human viewpoint to a divine viewpoint. Und...

Where Are the Men, Part 3 (2016) 26.10.2024

God is asking you to be faithful to hear and learn His Word, use it, and live by His system of principles and precepts. If you do this, God promises you “length of days, long life and peace shall they add to you” (Prov 3:1-2). God is looking for men who will stand in the pulpit and teach God’s Word. God is looking for men and women of faith. “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he wh...

Where Are the Men, Part 2 (2016) 25.10.2024

Manliness is a mental state, not a physical attribute. Thought, not muscle, determines the true man. The man God is looking for must control his emotions. “Don’t be hasty to be angry for anger resides in the bosom of the fool” (Eccl 7:9). A man must practice the three R’s: recognize sin; rebound sin and resume living the spiritual life. If God is going to deliver the USA we must have men to stand...

Where Are the Men, Part 1 (2016) 24.10.2024

God is looking for a few good men. “I searched for a man among them, a man who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land so that I should not destroy it” (Ezekiel 22:29-31). What will happen in this country is a direct result of what we choose to think. Whether we choose to think like spiritually oriented men or think like males. Serving the Lord Jesus Christ is a volunta...

Stinkin’ Thinkin’, Part 5 (2016) 23.10.2024

You are what you think, not what you think you are. There’s no magical button to push to change how to think. You need to choose to do it. Choose to concentrate on learning the Word of God and applying the thinking of Christ in your life. “How blessed is the man whose delight is in the doctrine of the Lord and in His Word. He meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by stream...

Stinkin’ Thinkin’, Part 4 (2016) 21.10.2024

Love is one of the most important critical thinking skills in the plan of God. Love is a thinking skill of appreciation, devotion, dedication and motivation. Love is thinking, not emoting—personal love for God and impersonal love for others. Personal love is what motivates us to learn the mind of Christ. “For this is the love of God that we keep His commandments, and His commandants are not burden...
