Was the Spirit’s arrival simply a party that resulted in supernatural fervour and frenzy, or was there more to it than that? Parables are stories that Jesus used to reveal the truth of God’s Kingdom while simultaneously challenging the commonly held views of his listeners. Jesus shared over thirty parables in the first three gospels, but only five are included in all three. Most people believe they’re living a good and truthful message. Most will also follow others who embody that same message. God is with us through all of life. He either meets our needs or meets us in our needs with his presence. He is the gift that keeps on giving. Water baptism is an act of faith and obedience to the commands of Christ. Baptism declares that you are a follower of Jesus, and it is a public confession of your faith in and commitment to Him. It is the next step after salvation through repentance and faith and is an important foundation for the Christian life. God wants to give each of us a heavenly vision. Vision from God is something beyond what we can do for ourselves. The Apostle Paul received a heavenly vision from the Lord, and it set the course for the rest of his life. Whatever may come in this life, we can endure it and flourish if we have a heavenly vision.
