Selected stories from The Eight Immortals Travel East or Journey to the East (《东游记》), is a famous 16th-century Chinese mythological novel detailing the adventures of eight Taoist deities. The most famous story within it is the Immortals' journey to Penglai Island, where they famously crossed the East Sea, each using their unique, enchanted treasures to show their supernatural abilities.
