This is the first episode of a chat with Marketing Edinburgh boss John. The body is challenged by proposed cuts to their funding from The City of Edinburgh Council and here we speak to John about what that means.

Councillors will decide next week whether or not to approve the administration’s recommendations that the city introduces a Tourist Tax. The proposal is to charge overnight visitors £2 a night with a cap on seven nights. Scottish government legislation is still required but Edinburgh would be first if Holyrood manages to introduce that legislation. Here we speak to the Council Leader.

Skyrora Edinburgh’s rocket company has returned Black Arrow to Midlothian today where it will be used for educational outreach. Black Arrow was the UK’s first and only rocket to place a satellite into orbit.

This is the major new exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street

This is an audio visual installation which you can see and hear until mid February at WHALE Arts and the Fruitmarket Gallery. It is the result of a collaboration between the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and people in Wester Hailes.
