In a controversial week for cycling with a racial incident with Madis Mikhels in the Tour of Guangxi. Tadej Pogačar conquered Il Lombardia for the third time and made history in the process while fellow Slovenian superstar Primoz Roglič joined him on the podium in his final race for Jumbo Visma before joining Bora Hansgrohe in 2024.

In an interesting week off the bike, Amazon has been rumoured to be a potential co-sponsor if the Soudal Quickstep and Jumbo Visma is fulfilled. Primoz Roglic is set to leave and will reveal where at the end of his season while Remco Evenepoel reportedly does not want to be part of the merger projects so he could be on his way to INEOS Grenadiers.

On the day of the first rest day of La Vuelta, Sepp Kuss finds himself the unlikely leader of the race after attacks from Primoz Roglic and Remco Evenepoel but will Jumbo Visma complete the hat-trick of grandtour overall victories for 2023? It has been a busy week of racing, with the Tour de Pologne, the Tour de l'Ain and, of course, the UCI Road World Championships.
