So I decided to dig a little deeper this week with newer hip hop and trap music. It's easy to play commercial music these days, but I think you find better music digging a little deeper than mainstream. When I do some of my trance mixes, I try to think of them in the fashion of a opening set. I build up with progressive house and techno, and lead into trance for the rest of the mix. Every mix I do tells a story and I try to paint pictures with the transitions and the feeling each song has. One of the things I liked to do when I worked at Dancers is what I call a tempo flip. EDM and Trap music are very similar in tempo, and in this mix we go from 124bpm all the way to 72bpm while keeping the energy.
