The Diary Of A Wannabe Writer

I describe another successful day in which I sign off one chapter and do some work on the next, but possibly not in that order…!

I talk about what I planned to do with chapters 41 and 42 over the next few days…

I describe what I’ve been up to in Sydney (not much) and where I am with Chapter 41 of “Empress Of The Trees.”

I have breakfast in the Singaporean restaurant during which I complete the first version of Chapter 41 of “Empress of the Trees”, still have some editing to do of course but it’s great progress.

I spend my morning walking and taking photographs of birds, insects and flowers - as well as writing - in Singapore Botanical Gardens…

Had a long day at work but managed to get a little bit of writing done and I’m motivated to do some more tomorrow…

Didn’t do any writing today, didn’t plan to, should have told you in advance and not done a podcast. Working all day tomorrow so I will be back on Friday!

I talk about what I have written today, and how my slight change of direction for the end of “Empress” has changed my writing goals for this month…

I’ve had an unproductive day today, so I manage to keep the podcast to a trim six minutes!

I talk about what I have managed to achieve today, which considering it’s the day after I landed from a flight is quite impressive…

I talked yesterday at being at a bit of a crossroads in terms of the direction I wanted to take the last part of “Empress” and I think I’ve made up my mind…

I record live from my hotel in New York City, during which I have a sudden revelation about the epilogue of “Empress Of The Trees.” Literally during the podcast. Which has left me with a lot of thinking to do…

After a short break of just under a week I explain why I took the week off (nothing sinister I assure you!) and reiterate what my targets are for February in terms of my writing…

My final update for the month, in which I deliver the wonderful news that I signed off the first draft of chapter 40 today, I have some pressing work related things to do over the next few days so the podcast will be back on the 6th of February.

I have a busy day today, but I still get some editing done, with the hope of competing that work tomorrow! Sorry, the sound quality is terrible on this one, not quite sure what happened

I have another extremely productive day today, I have finished writing the first version of chapter 40 and all I need to do now is edit it.

I get chapter 39 signed off a day before self imposed deadline.

Today I had to wait at home to ensure I was here when a man came to measure up for some blinds that I want to have fitted. What did I get done whilst I was waiting? Listen and find out!

I finally get back on track with my writing and manage to complete the first version of chapter 39, all I have to do is edit it now! Plus I reflect on a member of the writing group (the membership of which has genuinely inspired me since I joined in 2018) who sadly passed away between Christmas and New Year.

I have not written anything today but I did a few other things I’ve been meaning to do for ages which means hopefully I shall get some writing done tomorrow…
