This week's show is from a listener request - this show will soon have its 25th anniversary and a very fine show it is so I decided to bring it to you starting this week. A laid-back, west coast Dead show but one where you can almost feel the sunshine and the smiles on everyone's faces.. I enjoyed listening to this and hope you do as well, it features a nice unusual set list and very nice playing...

This week I'm playing the 2nd set from the show on Feb. 21st, 1995 from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. I find this to be an excellent second set - not only is Jerry's jams out of Truckin' interesting and fun, but the Visions of Johanna is one for the ages. Add to that a great Liberty encore and I think this show is far from depressing... but that's just my opinion.. I hope you enjoy it!...

Fifteen years - man that's a long time.. too long.. but on this anniversary time I'm moved to play something from the last year - and I know Garcia was failing and the music wasn't the same and on and on.. but I remember seeing the Dead in '95 , a couple of times, and by the last time I knew it would be the last time .. and anyway, this is one really nice show, there are moments of true beauty her...

This week we really hit the climax of this show from July 18th, 1972 - the Dark Star ->Comes a Time.. this is fabulous stuff, in my opinion.. and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I've read that Dylan was backstage at this show and that it was the first time he met Garcia - who knows ;) at any rate the group consciousness is clearly evident here and flows from the Star and Comes a Time into that rare 3rd...

A nice fat summer show that marks its anniversary this weekend is up for this week's Deadpod.. This comes to us from Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City NJ, and took place on July 18th, 1972. This is a *very* well played and energetic performance - Jerry really comes out smoking on the Stranger, and I strongly recommend his work in 'The Wheel' in particular..
