The Daily Thistle, St. Margaret's School

Today St. Margaret’s is enjoying a day off from classes following a successful Fall Family Weekend that found the school open to school events for the first time since COVID began. We will be sharing some sounds from the weekend, but today we  continue the story of St. Margaret’s School as we celebrate our Centennial year.

We introduce Autumn C. '22 who debuts her Daily Thistle production for Wednesday, Oct. 13.  Autumn includes plans for Parents' Weekend, music from Chapel and news from the BBC.

Yesterday’s Community Service Day was wildly successful!  Across the campus, a great clean up occurred that included the installation of one of our crew shell in the dining hall. The portraits of the original owners were unfortunately removed in 2016, but Centennial plans are to return them to the B-House. One of them includes its original occupants, Catherine Flood McCall, who died a spinster. Celebrating Ms. Beverly's Fried Chicken with her fans! In 1813, the home was purchased by Dr. Austin Brockenbrough, son of Dr. John Brockenbrough, who served the Navy as a surgeon and was one of Tappahannock’s leading physicians.
