Babylonian Termination (Isaiah 48:12-21). The One who is the beginning and end of your life directs you to what is best and blessing. Your identity is not in this society, you have been redeemed and belong to the LORD.

Stiffneck Consequence Forecasting (Isaiah 48:1–11). The LORD warns those who claim to be God’s people but not in relationship with God. I am forecasting the consequences of sin and telling you to be ready to be refined.

Wrong Worldview Calamity (Isaiah 47:1-15). The society that treasured pleasure and security allowed wickedness to flourish. They misled themselves to deny the LORD and cannot rely on their old tricks to avoid the catastrophe of their error.

Burden Hauling (Isaiah 46:1-13). What are the burdens your idols impose on you? The LORD reminds, “I uphold and carry you; I sustain and rescue you.” Rather burdens God gives salvation.

Utterances of Integrity (Isaiah 45:18-25). The Lord preaches to you a word irrevocable. Unlike the empty promises of idols, we will say deliverance and strength come from the LORD alone.

Fragmented Quarrelers (Isaiah 45:5-17). We complain about our unright lives. Even through the world’s unrighteousness Lord promises to rain down his goodness and righteousness on His people.

Unacknowledged Transformer (Isaiah 44:24-45:7). The one who forms us and redeems us. The one who stymies the so-called learned and pundits. The Lord will rebuild the people everyone dismissed as goners.

Idol Ignorance (Isaiah 44:6-23). We fashion gods out of practical resources. We are in a time of immense idol worship.  The Lord mocks the idols who care nothing for you. We do not make God, the LORD makes us and redeems us.

Trespasses Offering (Isaiah 43:14- 44:5). The LORD is doing a new thing, do you perceive it? Even the jackals honor God. Instead of worship we give God the gift of sin. So listen. The LORD will drench you to make you new.

Non-Revocable God (Isaiah 43:1-13). What god of this world created, formed and called you by name? The LORD alone pays a price for you. You are created to give glory to God.

Bruised Reed Mender (Isaiah 42:1-17). The LORD’s chosen one is made the covenant for God’s people. He will bring outside of covenant people to the LORD. Turn away from idols so you will not be disgraced.

Wasteland Timbers (Isaiah 41:17-29). The LORD makes springs pop up in our dry spots and lift up God’s people to be mighty timbers in the wasteland. Don’t waste time on earthly powers who hold no sway over the future.

Ragers Perish (Isaiah 41:1-16). The Lord uses the people and process of history to bring about his purposes. Don’t spend time looking at adversaries. Look to God.

Complaining About Fathoming (Isaiah 40:25-31). The Lord who creates and cares for the stars and you is aware. Know your God is everlasting and doesn’t wear out. Hope in the LORD who will make you soar even when you wear out.

Whirlwind of Naught (Isaiah 40:12-24). Who can fathom the Spirit of the LORD?  If you have to prop up your idol it’s no god. The schemes of men are just stubble before the tempest of the LORD.

Flower Consistency (Isaiah 40:1-11). Shout out that the LORD will drive right through our hardships. Shout out that the LORD’s promises will not falter. Our shepherd comes to gather us and carry us in his bosom.

Joyous Crocus (Isaiah 35:1-10). God seeks to strengthen feeble hands and fearful hearts. Rather than speeding down a freeway to despair, God makes a highway to holiness for you where you can be refreshed. (See 2 Tim 1:7)

Living In A Blaze (Isaiah 33:10-22). Who can dwell in the presence of the consuming fire of the LORD? The one who walks with God and stops his eyes and ears from consuming wickedness.

Complacent Trembling (Isaiah 32:9-20). We are warned not take our comfort and affluence for granted. The answer to chaos is living in God’s righteousness. Even though hail flattens everything God’s people will find rest.

Stammering Hearts (Isaiah 32:1-8). The noble have a right relationship with God and others. The honored of God are aimed towards His goodness. They speak truth to nourish those who hunger and thirst for God.

Worthless Saviors (Isaiah 31:1-9). The Lord warns God’s people not to rely on the swift and the strong of this world because they are mere flesh. When we see the LORD will shield and deliver His people we will throw away our idols.

Depends All Deceit (Isaiah 30:8-22). We can be unwilling to listen to God. “Stop confronting us with the Holy One.” Our salvation is found in repentance and the compassion of the LORD.

Dumb Clay (Isaiah 29:11-24). The intelligence of the oh so smart vanishes. Woe to those who rationalize their darkness from God. Still the LORD will redeem the wayward and they will stand in awe. Are you God’s wayward beloved?

The Strange Work (Isaiah 28:9-21). God is trying to teach us grace but we dismiss it as control. Because we make a bargain with death God rises up to carry out his alien and strange work of the Incarnation.
