Dark Day of Abandonment (Mark 15:33–47). Jesus recites scripture prophesy from the cross holding onto the promise of God through his suffering. They have such contempt for Jesus they give him vinegar in his dying moments. Christ is truly forsaken by the Father for bearing the sins of the world. In his death is the revelation he is the Son of God. (cf. Psalm 22)

Scorning A Ludicrous Messiah  (Mark 15:21–32). We see the spectacle of a flogged man carrying his cross. Why must this world mock and hate Jesus? Who are the passerby’s today who mock and despise Christ? God is mocking all our self-righteous religious effort in his ludicrous cross which we scorn.

Binding The Saving King (Mark 15:1-20). The leaders make their plans to get tired of Jesus. The leaders of this world are afraid of the prince of peace. The Arrogance of Christ (Mark 14:53–65). They look to prove Jesus wrong based on their own moral relativism. They ask Jesus about his identity? What is the only answer they will accept? They are indignant Jesus won’t fold. They are aghast at the arrogance of Christ to assert He is the Christ. They ask Christ prophesy and reject his proclamation of Himself.

Arresting Rebellious Peace (Mark 14:43–52). Is Jesus leading a rebellion? Absolutely. Why do violent men come for Christ? The world resents the peace and the kingdom of God that Christ brings. How desperate are we to get away from the implications of the Gospel that we expose our nakedness?

Your Failure Is Not The End (Mark 14:27–42 ). Not in question. You will all fall away. How many times do you have to fail in sin to be labeled a sinner? But after he is risen, Christ will gather his disciples. Jesus is overwhelmed with the weight of bearing the sin of the world and suffer the abandonment of God.

In The Night He Was Betrayed (Mark 14:12–26). We would all like to think we would not betray Jesus. Remember Judas was chosen by Jesus himself as one of the twelve. Christ endures our betrayal to become our savior. Be grateful that Christ gives, “This is My body, This is my blood” for the new kingdom. (Cf. Ex 12)

Wasteful Worship Of Christ (Mark 14:1–11). What is your leprous backstory that gives glory to Christ’s salvation? What offering does Jesus give to you? Do you complain about the cost of the sacrifice where it could be used elsewhere in your life? What offering do we give to Jesus in worship?

Servants Awake With Faith (Mark 13:28–37). All the created order will fade away, including heaven. God’s Word never goes out of stock. Don’t worry about when the end of time is coming. Focus on who is taking hold of you in the end time. Are you asleep in your faith? Or are you alert to the call of your savior?

Desolation Causing Abomination (Mark 13:14–27). What do we let into your temple? What ungodly, unchristian worldly rebellion do you accommodate in your life? Where is our hope if we can’t bring down the desolating abomination? Stay focus on Christ.

Atheist Endorsed Hatred (Mark 13:1–13). All the structures of humanity will be overthrown by the Cross. On account of faith in Christ, the world hates and attacks believers. Are you focused on what God is doing in your life, family and church? Watch for it.

Throwing In All We Have (Mark 12:28-44). Do we love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul - perfectly? Do we love our neighbor as ourselves - always? The Messiah enables us to love the LORD and neighbors. The pharisees work at showing their efforts. What did the widow throw in? Her complete trust and faith. (Cf. Deut 6:4-9, Lev 19:18)

Eternal Ownership Inscription (Mark 12:13-27). They try putting Jesus on trial to cage him. A legal political question. He questions them. Whose inscription is on you? The Spirit writes on your heart. He tells them they are badly mistaken because they don’t know scripture or the power of God. The LORD is the living God who gives eternal life.

Tenant Church Usurpers (Mark 12:1-12). God planted his vineyard Israel. Who owns the vineyard? To whom does the harvest belong? Who do the servants work for? When God’s people assume ownership of the vineyard they usurp God. They reject and kill the Son who is sent to claim ownership. Still the rejected stone is the cornerstone.

From Heaven Originally (Mark 11:27-33). The so-called experts in religion evaluate Jesus based on the Law. Who are the experts today who judge and condemn Jesus by their legalist definitions? The are indignant that Jesus is doing miracles outside their systems and power. By what authority do they take God to court?

Cursing Corrupt Roots (Mark 11:12-26). Jesus sees a fig tree in full leaf, but it is not the season yet. How often do we make the excuse that the season has not come for us to be of use to the Lord? To be fruitful we must have healthy roots in God’s will. Jesus encourages us to trust, not doubt, our Father that will give us the kingdom.

Rejected Saving King (Mark 11:1-11). Jesus sends disciples ahead of his entourage to secure an unridden colt. What does the Lord have need of in your life? Will you just relent to the Lord’s request? Hosanna in the highest heaven! Save us please Almighty God. Blessed is the one who comes in the authority and power of the Lord Almighty.

Blind Man Sees Him (Mark 10:46-52). The blind beggars calls out for the healing from the Messiah. The crowd rebukes him for interrupting their comfortable time with Jesus. Are you crying out to be healed; to be given sight? Jesus asks, “What do you want me to do for you?” Do you trust Jesus to heal your life to fall prostate at his feet?

Afraid Of Where He Goes (Mark 10:32-45). The disciples are afraid as Jesus leads the way to Jerusalem. Do we follow where Jesus leads? Where Jesus says his path will lead to rejection and crucifixion, the disciples have their mind on promotion. Jesus leads as one who serves and is first because he obeys the will of God. How will you live your faith?
