The Daily Disturbance

Amidst the intense chaos and change in the world, must we need another disturbance? Whether it be a gentle whisper, or a kick in the butt, we all need constant change in our lives. Good ones. I put this together with the commitment that all who take part will be disturbed into a whole new realm of living. The key lies in the heart. I hold on to this encouragement by a mentor who “confused me at a higher level” more times I can remember, Dr. George Blake: "Disturbances to a good heart lead to positive change."thedailydisturbance.podcast@gmail.comJingle: Jessie LasatenVO: Cherry Bayle

What if there’s nothing in me worth following as an example? | S2E60 04.05.2023

Trust me, everyday I think or do - or think and do - what is not worth following! You can still be an example of bouncing back, but bouncing back first requires you admit you fell down, failed at something, went astray. Authenticity, and yes, a sense of helplessness, are key.

Weren’t we taught to avoid things that bring trouble to our lives? | S2E53 29.03.2023

Have you been analyzing my questions yet? Avoid things that bring trouble, yes. But avoid trouble already upon us? You can’t! It will only get worse. So yes I will avoid going on a trip to a beach where forecasters are already saying there will be troubling weather; but to be amidst a storm and declare you must be avoiding it? Instead, F.A.C.E. it!

Why can’t I withdraw when I know its a losing battle? | S2E52 28.03.2023

The problem is most people withdraw not by knowing but by feeling. To know is to apprehend fully. Apprehending fully the state of one’s battle - if one is even truly in battle - and to discern if the state of war is not worth pursing takes a lot more time and effort and discernment than simply quitting based on my unreliable feelings and impulsive reacting. Why did the musician quit the band quiet...

How can I be quitting when I am still showing up? | S2E51 27.03.2023

Because you showing up without the desire to fight, or to play, or to deliver… whatever the case, its best you don’t even attempt to make it… Not a few times, I’ve asked someone simply not to show up, or to just make a U-turn and go home. I’d rather play a game, fight a battle or deliver on a commitment alone, with all my heart, than with someone alongside who will not do his or her part.

How can I trust someone I am just courting, or someone who is courting me? | S2E50 27.03.2023

Should shared values be a foundation for love and courtship? | S2E49 23.03.2023

Yes, to both! It’s a question of priority, of knowing what is most important that is hard to give up versus what are mere preferences that can easily be accommodated. Celebrate differences by all means. But let shared values be a non negotiable core Amos 3:3, "Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”

But if today I feel complete and equipped, and I am still not dead, that means my purpose goes beyond me, and just for today, I have been made to stay, to complete another along my w...
