This is a simple introduction to the Book of Luke as we begin our study of this remarkable historical account of the life and ministry of Jesus.

We are not just called to a destination in the Christian life, we are called to live life as a journey, as sojourners, as transients on this earth - walking with God every step until we finally arrive at our final destination.  The Christian life is a marvelous life when we walk with God through pain and disappointment, as well as in triumph and joy. Be a Sojourner with Jesus!

Skeptics may argue some of the prophecies of Christ like the genealogical lines or the virgin birth, but as you continue to look at all the fulfilled prophecies, the arguments of skeptics are overwhelmed by plausible, undeniable truth.  Jesus is Yeshua Hamashiach.

Today we reflect upon the significance of the Scriptures and the Savior, our commitment and His cleansing.  By His work in our lives we are made the light of the world.

So, just what do people do when celebrating Hanukkah?  Listen.

In this broadcast we will highlight the readings and prayers of Days 3 through 5 of Hanukkah 2023.  They are combined because there are not broadcasts over the weekend.

Jesus declared around the time of the Festival of Lights (Hanukkah) that he, himself, is the light of the world (John 8:12).  Today we will celebrate his miracles and his light.

What is the big deal with Hanukkah?  Isn't it a Jewish thing?  Yes, but it is also a Festival that Jesus, Himself, observed (John 10:22).  What is its significance and should Christians observe it?  While it may not be a command, there is benefit to understanding and even observing this special festival.

Paul gives some pretty specific instructions about the use of language gifts (prophecy/preaching, tongues, interpretation).  Are these guidelines followed among Pentecostal churches today?  They should be.  In the final analysis, we want believers and non-believers alike to have the experience wherein they conclude, "God is in their midst."  May our worship be such that that is the conclusion of a...

Some of the spiritual gifts could appear to have more splash to them, draw more attention, and even seem more "spiritual", but all spiritual gifts count.  Paul gives instructions about how those more "spiritual" appearing gifts should be used in gatherings of the church. There should be a certainly orderliness to worship.

It is the best practice to use the gifts God has given us in an orderly fashion for the building up of those around us, not for personal prestige. We are to use our spiritual gifts in a way that is good for others and builds up the church.

We are called to live in and love out the Love of God.  Sometimes we settle for disputes on lesser things rather than seeking to live out the love of God for those around us, particularly those in the Body of Christ who may not see things the same way we do.  What are we to do?  Live in Love. 

God has given us a calling, a commission, and He has given us all we need through giftings to fulfill those.   He has also given us an operating system we are to operate within in fulfilling our calling:  LOVE.

God has given to each of us Spiritual Gifts.  These gifts are not intended for our personal pride and pleasure.  They are given to us for the expansion of Christ's Kingdom and the building up of the Body of Christ.  What are your gifts?  Are you seeking to serve Christ's Kingdom with them?

Someone recently asked why so many people hate the Jews.  It was almost as if they could not see a reason for such hatred.  In part 1, and again here in part 2, we look the biblical narrative to see geo-political, familial, financial, spiritual and other reasons for such conflict between the Jewish people and the peoples of the world throughout the millennia. 

With what is currently going on in Israel and Gaza, someone recently asked why people hate the Jews so much.  In this broadcast, we look at reasons for Jewish hatred from biblical, cultural, economic, and geo-political vantage points. 

How should we approach communion?  What makes it so special?  What are the prevalent views about communion?

Does the way we come together reflect Christ, or are we individualistic, seeking our glory rather than God's glory? Is there respect and consideration given for others?  We are called to lift and exalt Christ, not self, so why all the church divisions, even over petty issues?

In the previous episode we considered the warning of Israel's failures.  We were warned not to do the same things they did.  God promises to help us overcome, and so, we should seek to live for the Glory of God in all we do.

1 Corinthians 10 sets an example of things we ought not to do.  We should find ourselves duly warned to not follow the example set by the nation of Israel through the Old Testament.
