How can the responses of figures throughout Scripture teach us about our own responses to sin? How do these reactions point us to the hope of Christ?

How did Paul speak the message of grace? How can we say hard things with Christlike love? 

Trying to reconcile the sovereignty of God with the responsibility of man can be a perplexing thing. Perhaps that's why Charles Spurgeon one said in response to that effort, " I never reconcile friends." As we see in the scope of chapter 13, having a high view of God's sovereignty is the fuel for confident evangelism and spurred and sustained by powerful prayer. 

The gospel confronts the hearts of mankind. In turn, the hearts of the redeemed must shine the light of Christ in their culture. How does Paul's sermon in Acts 13 remind us of these truths?
