The Couch Potatoes

Hi there! It's a new month, so we'll look at the slate of movies coming out through the month of April. ALSO, I saw Ready Player One, and to my surprise, it doesn't suck! - Brett

Last week we previewed AMC's "The Terror", this week we'll RE-view it... Jeff too! The scaredy-cat watched a scary show! Good for him. He also watched the rebooted Roseanne, which has already been renewed for another season!

Hi there. Yes, I fell asleep at the movies this week. Also, AMC is ready to unleash THE TERROR. And, Jeff is excited about the ISLE OF DOGS, even though he doesn't like dogs. - Brett

Hi there. This week Jeff marks the anniversary of a show that's been gone for 10 years! Hint: It's one of the best shows on TV to never be recognized by the Emmys. Also, Global has a new show out this weekend which takes a significant step forward in the cultural landscape.

Hi there. This week we'll go over the Oscars, which was a perfectly mediocre near-four hours of television. No surprises! Also, Jeff's excited about a big anniversary for one of his favourite films. - Brett

Hi there! This week we've got our March Movie Preview, which moves out of the realm of awards prestige and into the realm of giant robots. BUT, with the Oscars this weekend, Jeff Braun has completed his quest to watch all nine Best Picture nominees, and makes his predictions. - Brett

Hi there! Last week I reviewed Black Panther, this week I caught up on the new CW show "Black Lightning", which can also be streamed on Netflix. Meanwhile, Jeff went to see "Black Panther", so we'll see if his opinion is similar to mine. AND, some news on a show that was cancelled, then UN-cancelled by NBC. - Brett

Hi there! As you may have surmised from the headline, I saw Marvel's "Black Panther", and I like it! A lot! Also, Jeff continues his Best Picture nominee checklist, this week he watched "Call Me By Your Name". Also, a THUNDEROUS film comes home to Digital HD this week. - Brett

Hi there! This week, Jeff will ponder whether it's a good thing or a bad thing to have SO MANY STAR WARS MOVIES on the horizon. Also, Netflix dropped a surprise bomb at the Super Bowl, revealing "The Cloverfield Paradox" will debut after the game. I'll tell you why you shouldn't waste your time. Unlike me. I wasted my time. Now I'm mad. BRETT SMASH.

Hi there! This week we've got our February movie preview, AND, as Jeff continues to close in on all nine Best Picture nominees, he reviews Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. His stance on the award-winning film might surprise you!

Hi there! With the Oscar nominations out this week, Jeff checked out Phantom Thread as he inches closer to completing the list of Best Picture noms. I opted to FINALLY watch HBO's Big Little Lies after it won MORE AWARDS at the SAGs last week. It's pretty cool. - Brett

Hi there. Jeff went to see "The Post" this week, he'll tell you why he thinks it's cool. I'll tell you about season 1 of "Marvel's Runaways" which wrapped up this week on Showcase, and I really dug it! Jeff will also tell you why he hates the first Tomb Raider movie so much. Or maybe it's not Tomb Raider, but Angelina Jolie...

Hi there! Awards season is off and running so Jeff Braun will outline where we're at and what we might be able to expect as we march towards the Oscars. I'll tell you about three cool TV shows coming your way this week, as well as some of the shows I've been watching so far in 2018 that I like... and maybe don't like, but can't help myself. - Brett

Hi there! We begin 2018 with our January Movie Preview, and we forgot to mention "I, Tonya" is out in theatres now. We are idiots. Jeff also has a review of "The Shape of Water", a quick belated review of "Star Wars The Last Jedi", and I'll review a funny new show on Fox called LA --> Vegas.

Hello there! We've already counted down our favourite TV shows of the year, now we'll go through our favourite films of 2017 -- including one that got a huge snub from the Golden Globes. Jeff's here to make it right!

Hi there! We're counting down our favourite television shows of 2017. We both watch dozens of shows -- I watched an even 60 series this year -- so it's difficult to choose 10 shows apiece! These are the hard choices The Couch Potatoes face. It's a tough job. LOLZ. - Brett

Hi there! As I type this, it is Friday December 15th at 12:14AM, and I've JUST seen Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. I've got a review of that, Jeff Braun has a review of The Disaster Artist, we'll talk about some of our favourite Christmas movies, and I'll tell you about three shows I finally started watching on Netflix! - Brett

Hi there. With no major releases last week, we waited until this week to do the December Movie Preview, which includes STAR WARS THE LAST JEDI OH MY GOD IT'S ALMOST HERE. Also, Game of Thrones not back until 2019???? D'oh. - Brett

Hi there! This week, Jeff went to see a film that has a good shot of being a big player at the Oscars -- "Lady Bird". It has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and Jeff says Believe the Hype! Also, Marvel has unleashed its first trailer for "Avengers: Infinity War", and it melted my brain. Although, one could argue... what brain? - Brett

Hi there! Last week I'd only watched four episodes of The Handmaid's Tale by the time we did our show. I finished the first season soon after, and Jeff plowed through it in impressive time. We'll offer our verdict on the season. Hey, better late than never! You should watch it too. Also, I went to see Justice League. I agree with Jeff! Good not great.

Hi there! Jeff went to see Justice League, and while his review is a bit more positive than then consensus, he wasn't blown away. He's also got a review of Murder on the Orient Express, while I finally started watching the Emmy-winning series The Handmaid's Tale and HOLY CRAP IS IT GOOD. - Brett

I know, what a cheesy stupid headline. But, "Thor: Ragnarok" really is cool! Jeff and I will tell you why. He'll also tell you about a little film festival darling called The Florida Project.

Hi there! I plowed through Stranger Things 2 by Monday night, Jeff got through most of it, so we'll review the second season of the Netflix smash hit show. ALSO, it's a new month, so we'll tee up all the big movies coming your way in November.

Geostorm sucks and Jeff loves it! He and his buddy enjoyed it for all the wrong reasons, and he'll tell you why. We'll also tee up Stranger Things 2, which debuted this weekend on Netflix, and I'll tell you whether or not you should watch the new show "The Gifted" if you haven't seen it yet. Also, I ate two bags of chips today and feel gross. - Brett

Ok that's a stupid headline. Hi there. The Walking Dead returns for its 8th season. After the miserable 7th season, should we care? Also, with Geostorm in theatres this weekend, getting bad reviews, we discuss the disaster movie, and why there seem to be less of them as years go by. Can we no longer be amazed? Or are these movies just... awful?
