The Compass Church

I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Phil. 4:11–13)

Ever catch yourself thinking, if I can get that, then I could basically die and go to heaven. There is only one person that can truly provide you with that sense of satisfaction.

How do you feed 5000 people with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish?

Getting fired up for the mission Jesus calls us to.

Living as sent people, under the authority of Jesus.

What we need to focus on through 2020 and beyond.

This is why Christmas is kind of a big deal.

Why does God scatter people?

The gospel is the power for living out the Christian life. And just like a lamp, you can’t shine for Jesus unless you’re plugged into the right power source! But what does that look like on a practical level? How does the gospel change the way we act in our jobs, our marriages, or our hobbies?

Jesus being resurrected offers us an eternal Hope for this life and the next.

We live, act, and find our identity as a result of the resurrection.

This morning we are looking at the plumb line of “We are not like a family, we are a family” - Part B.

Your church matters! You matter! In this message we are looking a three pictures Paul gives of the church to his young protege Timothy who is in Ephesus. Paul describes the church as; "The Household of God." "The Church of the Living God" and the "Pillar and Buttress of truth."

This wraps up our sermon series on the Lord's Prayer. We will be diving into the final two phrases of this prayer, which Jesus modeled for us.

If you could ask Jesus to teach you anything, what would it be? The disciples had this opportunity and the one thing they asked Jesus to teach them about was prayer. This summer Jesus is giving us as lesson on prayer as we walk through The Lord’s Prayer.

Today we are so thankful to have Trevor Rysavy teach us from Luke 15. Trevor and Lesley and their 2 girls live in Calgary. Have you ever been distracted? I know I sure have and it affects my life in so many ways, especially in my relationship with Jesus. Today we will be looking at Luke 10:38-42 and learning about the importance of spiritual focus and attention in the midst of a very distracted world.

Today we are looking at Mark 4:1-20. Jesus’ explanation of the Parable of the Sower highlights four different responses to the gospel. A persons reception of God’s Word is determined by the condition of his heart.
