The Church Within You!

EMOTIONS are a natural part of the human experience that can be positive or negative, mild or intense, and can help one understand how to react to what you're experiencing. Emotions will do what we, in faith, order them to do. For example, when David prayed, he ordered his soul, the center of his emotions, to bless the LORD. He believed and by faith, took control of his feelings. Remember, by fait...

Keep awake then  and  watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength  and  ability  and  be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man. Luke 21:36 Blessings, Presiding Elder Barbara Hayes AMP MAT 6

What is man that You are mindful of him? Or the son of man that You visited him. You have made him to be a little lower than the Angels, however, because they have figured out a few things. Man has gotten to the point where the more they know, the less they worship the Creator of all things. Men believe they got it all figured out . They seem not to remember that God created all things in "the hea...

Ezekiel realized the seriousness of his calling and how great the responsibility God had placed on his shoulders was. Ezekiel 3:16—21. Ezekiel is the prophet of human responsibility . While some people blamed God for their sad plight, others blamed their ancestors, Ezekiel made it clear that each individual is held responsible and accountable before God (ch. 18). Personal responsibility is the key...

To the LORD I cry aloud, and He answers me from His Holy Hill. Sometimes we have to steal away, get into our quiet space, and have a one-on-one with The LORD. There we can tell Him all about our concerns and troubles. He will hear our faintest cry. God hears us when we pray and responds when we urgently call upon His Name. Selah. Blessings, Elder Barbara Hayes TWFYT | LAB

Our God understands our weaknesses. Jesus is our "High Priest," our Mediator with God who has full access to the Father, and He entirely understands our reality and what we are going through while here on earth. Jesus truly gets us! Because He alone knows all about us. There is no secret that He does not know. Find your quiet space and tell Him all about your troubles, and He will answer bye and b...

What's stopping you from your quiet time with God? Nothing but yourself. Listen, you want to build upon a relationship with anyone, what do you do? First, you have to spend time with them, getting to know them, right? If you want to get to know God, wouldn't that mean spending time in prayer, reading your Bible, and studying His Word? Now, find that moment of the day in a quiet space and talk with...

"For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect." Mark 13:22 Is it possible for Christians to be deceived? Yes, so convincing will be the arguments and proof from deceivers in the end times that it will be difficult not to fall away from Christ. Jesus says that if we are prepared, we can remain faithful. But if we a...

Thy Prayers ... A Memorial Before God. God considers our prayers a sacrifice ascending to Him, reminding Him of our perseverance in calling upon Him in faith and devotion. "May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice." Know this: Your prayers and charitable acts will ascend as a memorial offering before God and are worthy of being reme...

If you are in a position of spiritual leadership , this reading has some important lessons for you. Christian leaders must know how to handle false accusations, vicious letters, unfounded press reports, and gossip. Otherwise, these devilish weapons will upset them so much that they will lose their perspective and spend so much time defending themselves that they will neglect their work, and possib...

Today's reading speaks of a few of Paul's teachable moments. The LORD knows how to bring balance to our lives. If we have only blessings, we may become proud; so He permits us to have burdens as well. That being said, we have good days and some not-so-good. One thing is for sure, God is still in control, and all we have to do as faithful to His Word is trust Him. Blessings, Elder Hayes The Wiersbe...

Whether it is convenient or inconvenient ... "Preach the Word!" You are to be instant in season and out of season. How can you say that you are a child of God, yet you walk around with a "do not disturb" sign hanging around your neck? We must always be ready to proclaim God's goodness and mercy toward men. He will stand with you and strengthen you in that hour. Blessings, Elder Hayes TWFYT | TWSB

"There's danger in the land ... The safest place in the whole wide world is in the Master's Hand." "I Delight To Do Thy Will, O My GOD." Every believer should affirm these words of Christ in his or her own life. It is by Christ's obedience to death that we have been sanctified (Hebrews 10:10) so that the law of God may be put into our hearts (Hebrews 10:16). Blessings, Elder Hayes TWFYT | FLSB

Should I go or should I stay? Many before you have asked this question of yourselves. Should I move to another church or take that new job offer? or Should I relocate to another state? TWFYT says this; "What you must seek God about is, Am I called to go or to stay? " However, there are times when you ask God the answer that comes back, is to stay where you are! We should always seek the LORD befor...

Seek Him while He may be found. God has a special family love for those who through Jesus are reconciled to Him, and remain loyal to Him while experiencing tribulation in this world. Our affection for Jesus brings forth the Father's affection toward us. Love responds to love. Seek His Face while He may be found. Blessings, Elder Barbara Hayes SY Jesus Calling | FLSB

God wants to do a "new thing" in your life—a new time of forgiveness, blessing, restoration, and God's presence. Isaiah wrote about a "New Exodus. " Just as God had led His people out of Egypt and through the Red Sea (Exodus 12—15), He would lead you if you drew nearer to Him to a "new thing." This is your exodus, for this, we give God Praise! Blessings, Elder Barbara Hayes SY Jesus Calling | FLSB

Can you put the world on hold for a few minutes? If it were so, what would you do with those moments? Would you pause to thank the LORD for all He has done? If He asked you to, "Follow Me" or " Come Away with Me" , would you without question? What if He asks you to put Him first for a change, instead of all those other things that seem more important? Would you choose the best thing that will neve...

Seek the LORD above all else. You can have only one Master, the LORD Jesus Christ. Do not allow others' expectations to drive you. Trust the LORD to direct your paths, and lean not to your expectations. Allow no pretense, in your Christian walk. Be real at all times and at all costs. "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:" Eph. 5:8 Blessings,...

The word for you today says, "Sadly today, the road less traveled is honesty in small things and honesty in all things." Honesty is being truthful and not lying, stealing, or deceiving. Integrity is the quality of being honest having strong moral principles, and being trustworthy and incorruptible. Honesty and integrity are often associated with trustworthiness. They can be developed from the insi...

Have you ever had cause to wonder? especially about events in the Bible. For example, "I wonder if Eve ever ate fruit again after that incident in the Garden." Or, "I wonder if Noah ever slept well during storms? After the great storm that caused the big flood." If we continue reading each Bible story related to these questions, we will find the answers to these questions and more. Oh my the way,...

Can you become what you read? If the world controls our thinking, we are conformers; if God controls our thinking we are transformers. If we read and study the Word of God, memorize it, and make it a part of our inner selves, God will gradually make our minds more spiritual. Your Bible is your basic instructions before leaving Earth! Blessings, Presiding Elder Barbara Hayes The Wiersbe Bible

Your mind is the doorway to your heart. Therefore you must guard your thoughts. The Word of God says, "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." 2 Cor. 10:5 Beware that the mind is a battleground. Some thoughts originate with us, while others come directly from the enemy....

The Christian is engaged in a spiritual conflict with evil. This spiritual conflict is described as a warfare of faith that continues until he enters the life to come. The believer's victory has been secured by Christ Himself through His death on the cross. Victory is yours in Christ Jesus! Blessings, Presiding Elder Barbara Hayes TWFYT | FLSB

One of the key defenses against Satan's attack is being aware of the enemy's continual effort to gain an advantage over us and to lead us away from sincere devotion to Christ. The believer's victory has been secured by Christ Himself through His death on the cross. Blessings, Presiding Elder Barbara Hayes TWFYT | FLSB

The river was where Moses' mother placed him in hopes that he would be saved. The river took him from hopelessness and despair to where everything became possible. There is a river of life, the river of God which can take you from the place of lack to the place of abundance. Seek Him first and foremost, He will lead you if you are willing to follow. Blessings, Presiding Elder Barbara Hayes TWFYT |...
