The girls are off to a super hot start and they don't look like they'll be stopping anytime soon. We break down their first few weeks in the newest Softball Minute. This is the first in a series of weekly look ins on the team.

Welcome to the Baseball Minute. A show where we break down a week's worth of action on the diamond for the Chants. Expect one of these a week to supplement the regular episodes that you've all come to love!

Fire Cliff Ellis into the sun. If he comes back next season, this school really doesn't care about winning or building a program. The players are so talented and so underutilized. It's so sad. It's so unfair to the women's team that we have to even talk about them in the same breath as the men's team. They're phenomenal and they deserve all the kudos they can get. 

So like Tim Beck is pretty freaking great. He got CCU's recruiting class across the line in only a few weeks. The results are mixed but you can see the plan. He accelerated the rebuild to one offseason thru the transfer portal. He hit most of his check list items too. Damn, why can't we find a basketball coach this good...

GRAYSON IS BACK!!! 10 withdraws from the portal and '23 looks so much brighter. We talk his decision and what it means for CCU. For the second time in 3 games CCU plays someone in purple and I'm kinda worried about it. The rest of the guys are fine with it but they also had to be reminded that Chad Staggs is head coach. Hear us breakdown the worst possible bowl game for Coastal.

Yeah sure, he's got 900 wins, but dammit he can't coach anymore! It's time for Cliff Ellis to go. This team is talented but 3 wins against DI schools is unacceptable at this point in the season.

JMU is on the docket this weekend. The Dukes are good but CCU is probably better. I don't know, I guess they are 2 TD underdogs. We spend a lot of time this week on our soapbox about the CFP rankings and their corrupt, self-validating ranking system.

9 new faces and only 3 returners. Is that too much turnover? Who are the standouts? Can Cliff Ellis bring them together? Is he the right man for the future of this program? We break it all down here. Also, Josh is a hero for this one. He's the real MVP of basketball season. 

It took 2 quarterbacks and a hell of a performance from the defensive line, but they got it done. A victory over Southern Miss puts the Chants in pole position to host the SBC Championship Game. What else does it mean for this team? We also talk about the impact that Grayson McCall has made on CCU in his time here.
