The black church is notorious of financing its own oppression. This mindset has to be changed in order for our people and community to be free. We finance our own oppression by giving our resources to people and communities that do not represent or support us as a people and community.

There are times when God sends a deliverer to your community. Here is one such of a person. She is Ajawavi Jackie Aja Ajavon. She is running for County Counsel President. She is passionate about community and has a powerful plan to empower the community and change lives. Hear her story, her life, and her vision for New Castle County.

WE NEED POLICY! In order for change to take place we need policy. Mockery comes when you have sentiments and symbolism but you decide not to change even after the sentiments. You mock the pain by making gestures of healing and wholeness, but not delivering what you promised.

The Bible says that an unjust balance is an abomination to the Lord. In this time of unrest and fighting injustice we need both prayer and legislation. It’s not an issue of either or. It’s an issue of this and that. We need balance to heal as a whole.

God is revealing HIMSELF in prayer and bringing forth the revolutionaries to deliver the people from oppression.

We are the vanguard for this time and season.

There are those that believe that oppression and a savior’s complex justifies crushing the cries of the unheard. I say this is not the way.

There are old school white spiritual fathers with black spiritual sons and daughters that use their spiritual children as weapons against communities of color. Watch out!

There is a system of racism that operates just like fivefold ministry.

The preacher’s response during this time of injustice is to preach Christ and HIS delivering power. At times deliverance and healing come with pain. We have to see from the eyes of the oppressed to understand their pain. We can’t give up nor lose hope when we see the pain, hear the cries, and the lashing out.

The cause of the gospel is to represent everything that Jesus did in the earth. He was the God of the oppressed and he freed the oppressed by HIS words and power. We have the same commission and cause.

In order for deliverance to come to our country the church must be forthcoming and honest about the role it played in slavery. Once that has happened then we can begin with the conversation of reconciliation after recognization. Healing can come from the church when it is willing to do this to have those hard conversations. It’s easy to tell oppressed people to forgive. This tactic has been used to shield the responsibility of those who practice racism, white supremacy, and white weaponized privilege. Until you deal with those issues that are shielded you can’t tell people when and how to forgive. This is hypocrisy at it’s finest.

There is a sin that comes with assimilation. When you can remain silence after the acceptance into a subculture from a dominant culture, and oppress your own culture or another. You have been assimilated. Brother Leon deals with this subject in light of the current racial tensions in our country.

We are dealing with weaponized white privilege and racism. It can only be addressed when we stop closing our eyes and thinking it will go away.

God wants to cleanse us from sin. There is no sin that can’t be forgiven or cleansed. Do you have faith to believe?
